Stock lump actually goes really well, don't be too down on it - not keen on fuel injection in older cars.
Had a 1.8t lined up but fell through about 12 months ago... Hold up - i'll start a project thread (not that there will be much happening on it as i'm mega pov at the moment)... Gimmie some time...I'm going to the pub... I may be some time...

roccin along...
Managed to get some time to do some long overdue maintenance to the Scirocco daily today, first it was change the air filter to a K&N panel job thats been here for about 3 years.... next was to track down the airleak thats been sending the idle on a totally random speed every time the foot is of the gas... turns out the throttle body boot had a few small tears in the pleats, all fixed with one of my spares accumilated over the years, swapped the throttle body as well seeing the existing one had a damaged return spring.
Then it was drain the oil, change the filter and then top up. Re-set the timing and idle after fitting the air intake back in place. drained the coolant, filled with water and descaler. Will flush the block and radiator next weekend and refill with coolant mix.
Hopefully going to the dyno late this coming week or early the next, be interesting to see what the WHP is now as the last dyno run was more than 5 years ago

Lots of MK 1 Scirocco's...
If it aint a MK 1 then it must be a donor car ??
Cheers,

Also pretty jealous of that nice 'rocco.
I actually did some isht today!
As minor and insignificant as it is, I polished up my hubcaps (first time with actual Autosol, new best friend!) and refreshed a pair of flag-mirrors I'll put on once I've buffed the paint properly.
I love this paint. Gives such a cool, textured, glossy finish.
Also located my car cover and wrapped it up.
On stands, because I have the set of wheels at the sand blasters. Probably paint them next weekend, and apply tires mid week afterwards.

Picked up car from mechanic.... Goes ok i guess,
doesnt get much hotter the 70 on my new temp gauge, after a bit of a spirited drive it hits 90 and feels much better to drive.
Lower revs it just pops and farts :S
No idea what it is, timing is fine, new dizzy cap, leads, points, rotor button, carby was cleaned out and float done, mixture seems ok.
Ahh well it drives though<space for rent>
