  • Got back door opened and put new handle on, replaced broken window winder and fitted an air horn and re-fitted a new ghetto catch can.

    • Attempted to unblock the windscreen washer jet with mixed success (there's at least one pin broken off inside and the driver's side jet is weak but better and usable). Put in about a litre of oil (in the engine, not the washer jet )

      • Replaced the hatch seal. I have to slam the thing bloody hard for it to close now. Still leaks from somewhere...

I also wound down the FPV from 5.5 to 3.5 BAR. This has helped considerably in terms of delivery of power, before it all came on about 4,500 - now it is more even across the range. Wheelspin in second!

I need to clean the ISV soon, the fluctuation in idle is driving me nuts.

Nice! I'd imagine it would sound pretty good with the roof down..

                • Just swapped over to my spare diesel motor. Took it for a test spin and now think that i have to change the clutch cable and there is not much adjustment left and its kinda popping.

                  • Cleaned the ISV tonight and the car idles - SMOOOOTTTHHLLYYYY! no more 300RPM variation.

I did it the simple way, where you inject 1/3 can or carby cleaner through it. I will drive it for a week and then when I have more time clean it again along with all of the incoming and outgoing pipework.

                    Yay.

                              • I just lost reverse, and now I have to push down on the gear stick to get into first or second. Not happy Jan. So in trying to fix it I lost a lot of skin off my knuckles and am still none the wiser. Sigh....and so it continues....
