Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

Mixed opinions from some people (not the VW boys though) but each person has different tastes anyway

                The landrover rims look good...

But to be honest, i preferred the BBS rims.

Would love to see your car in the flesh mate. There was only one other TDI on the weekend cruise

Haha they look a lot better in real life, and the BBS were a bitch to keep clean. I live on a dirt road so it was double the work than living on bitumen roads
Haha yeah I'm pretty far out, when I heard about cruise I would have had to leave my house around 6am to get there. I was at beach this weekend anyway. But missus lives off Jackson rd Mulgrave so I'm around the eastern burbs a little anyway

JOM horn from Germany, sounds nice and a bit louder than the standard one, not deafening loud though
don't have installed pics, because you can't see them when the fog light grilles are back on

Also finally got my rear storage tray, was sold as a mk6 one but boots are the same. Also fits with my stealth sub box in place too

                        • Where did you get the tray? That looks handy!

[edit] Found some on eBay for around $100. Does yours vibrate from the sub bass? I hate rattles.

                          • Yeah $100 bought it ages ago, took over a month to arrive
If you want one I'll sell you mine as I'm going over to Shanghai early Feb and need some spending cash
$80 delivered, no rattles from sub, it's a nice snug fit

foglight grilles and slim chrome trims are from ECS Tuning
If you don't mind me asking, what did the Jetta fog grilles end up costing including postage? I'm running Jetta upper and lower centre grilles with GT fog grilles, looking at the Jetta's with the chrome strips.

                              • Why did you replace the round LED tails? I loved the look of those on your car (I'd like some for my car).

What's involved with the changing of the fog/reverse lights on the round LED tails?
