Tinting the rocco

went with 35% to keep it all legal mate.
it is slightly under that because of the slight factory tint, but within the legal limit they told me

Reference for anyone looking to tint. I just asked for something that matched/came close to factory tint on the rears.

This was done a while ago, but thanks to Rebecca for recommendation. I've since recommended another friend take his R there, and would recommend again for anyone else. One-person job by a car enthusiast with many years experience. It was $160.00 inc. for both fronts (two windows).

has he started doing golfs again

when i asked in 2010 about my golf mkvi, to do all the windows, no factory tint on mine then....his response were he doesnt do golfs as they are too hard to do the job right.

I assumed he meant removing the door trims.

Rob did my Scirocco too (mine was his first ) but he also did DrK's Golf R on the same day, so I don't think he has that issue anymore.

Had tint done yesterday by tint a car North Melbourne.

Absolutely the worst service I have ever received.

Everything was fine, told by Peter (the owner) it will be all good. Driving home I noticed quite a few air bubbles - probably about 20 little ones - and rang Peter immediately. Said to bring car in this morning. Bought the car in and it was like a switch flicked in this bloke. Was raising his voice and saying such great customer service mantra's as "your starting to piss me off". All this while unable to get a word in and clearly dealing with a bloke who left reasonable town a few stations ago.

The funny thing is this is all over $140 tint. Couldn't care less if I've done my dough with the tint but to be subjected to this blokes rants is just unacceptable.

Am following up with Tint a car head office (not easy to find but search and eventually you'll find the general manager). Will inform outcome.

Yes you can tint over the factory privacy tint - i did on my Golf R and the windows are the same colour now (35% tint over the top of the privacy tint on the rear windows, and then 20% on the front windows).

I had mine done by the dealer before delivery - an amazing job who ever they used!

I also got the UV film and I can say wow it makes such a difference, my company mk6 golf was tinted without the uv film and although the tint helps heaps, the Scirocco you feel NO burn from the sun at all no matter how hot and direct the sun is burning

He doesn't like them but he'll do older Golf's, don't think he'll do MKVII

He didn't do the back windows...can anyone recommend someone who could do them?

he didnt want to do my mk vi either, so when i got the rocco i didnt even bother asking him.
Took it to tint a car instead and no issues at all, matched the factory rear tint well also

I'd get the back tinted as well so that you had max UV protection & it all matched. My tint guy would insist on having it all matching

Yeah - sounds like a cop out. I had the clear uv tint applied to the rest without issue.

I couldn't recommend a person if they can only do half a job!
