I just check my order and the boat is doing better than expected should land in Port Kembla on the 11th. But as stated earlier I can't get my hands on it till the offical release
Edit: I was checking the details on the cargo and I states it departs from Germany, no mention of PortugalLast edited by why_999; 02-01-2012, 04:22 PM.

Just took RB DSG for a test drive..
To start I couldn't believe how relaxed the salesman was, just gave me the keys and told me to "enjoy.. btw it's not double the merit anymore"...
Well initial thought...
- The noob to change the setting on the side mirror, not the best of places, but on the other hand how often do I change the side mirror.. no deal breaker!
- The seats were very comfortable, a bit too wide for my liking (I tall and skinny... new year resolution to beef up..lol), would for loved the Recaro leather option.
-DSG was better than I thought will be, smooth and very driveable even with all that power. It did change up very quickly, at 60km/h I was in 6th gear, but in no terms the engine was starved. And, the DSG fart was intoxicating, for a good 30min windows down and revving the nuts off just for the fart...lol
- For the brakes I like them on the Scirocco, more realistic compared to the GTI.
- The exhaust note was perfect and very small drown in the background, to remind you of the 188kw. So I will not be changing the exhaust.
- Ride comfort, was as reviewed by everyone.
- I have been driving coupes for the last 15yrs, so blind spots and rear view was normal... for me.
The only thing I will change will be the ride height. Compared to the Golf R, it has very high arches... well that will be fixed.
Cheers all

I too was fortunate enough to drive aa RB DSG Scirocco. My general thoughts were-- Very smooth power delivery
- Seats are a bit wider than my mkv gti but still very comfy
- Very agile
- Very tight and solid compared to the gti
- Supprisingly roomy
- Well equipt
Overall i loved it.
BTW, i here (not from the dealer) but from a very reliable source that vw have the launch date is 13 jan which is great as mine is sitting here on a warf in freo

Just took a Scirocco R DSG for a drive, to be honest I didnt really like it . . .
You can tell VW have skimped a little with the interior compared to the Golf. And the centre console . . . well there really isnt one . . .
I am comparing the drive to my MKV GTI manual1998 N15 Pulsar SSS with GTi-R Conversion 235.4kw at the front wheels
