Email Notifications Failing (mostly Telstra)
Hello everyone. Seems there is an issue with Telstra (possible others) blocking email from our server. If you are trying to sign up I would suggest a different email if possible. If you're trying to reset your password and it fails please use the Contact Us page:
Yes Composition Media is available as a PQ platform (2DIN form factor like RNS510) or as an MQB 2 part system (screen separate from glovebox unit).
They have component protection also.
There are sellers on Ebay selling the RCD330G and calling them 'Composition Media' which is not correct.
One part number is 5K7035200D but there are others.
The obvious difference is the Composition Media and Discover Media are big blocks like the RNS/RCD whereas the RCD330G has a much smaller body than the screen:

Thanks for that. So I'm actually going to look into this now, as I managed to brick my Audiosources headunit (yay?).
Looks like there are a few discover media units starting to pop up on ebay etc from overseas that claim to be unlocked. Would it be better/easier to just get one of those units, or try to get an original unit and do the hardware unlock ourselves? I'm no stranger to soldering etc. I assume the only other thing to consider would be getting aussie maps - is that something you could help with? Is there anything else to consider?

You can buy Aus maps from the dealer.
Or you can buy an EU maps sdcard delete the contents and install au maps from the navigation.com website (much cheaper).
I can source all the parts including patch board and instructions for you.

Could you please PM me information on patch board and instructions?
Hey Kamold, I tried to send a PM, but not sure if they're working or not. Are you able to let me know costing and details for this on a Mk6 R with Dynaudio and OEM reverse camera?
I recently upgraded my RNS510 to discovery media like yourself and I'm looking to add reversing camera.
After reading the above I'm not sure if I can get it to work in my B6 2.0tdi...
Would you happen to have EEPROM file from the calibrated controller?
Just discovered this thread. I wouldn't have imagined this would be possible on my 2012 Tiggy but you give me hope! If a bloke like myself was able to purchase all the parts required, would you be interested in installing this? For an appropriate fee of course!
Oh man, wow. I had assumed this was thoroughly impossible.
To completely put me off this idea, how much do all of the required parts set someone back if they wanted to attempt to replicate your work on their MY10.5 R36. And how much effort is involved in accessing/replacing all the required parts? If you were in Melbourne I'd seriously consider making the trip, Sydney is a bit harder.
