Looks like VW have finally fixed the site. I reached out to VW Aus last week and laid the problem out for them in detail with screenshots, URL's etc - got a cookie-cutter useless response. But coincidentally a couple of days after I reached out to them, the issue resolved and the update files became available.

Not sure why VW globally are so tardy with making the update files available through their portal when other brands in the family manage to push them out, but oh well - it is what it is.

Anyway, thought that anyone who was waiting would like to know.

Yeah got it a few hours ago Just need to go for a drive in the Kamiq now Has 22.12 so will see what it changes to.

Bloody Skoda are away behind Hasnt been one on there for months


Had to have car idling this morning as got a snake up under rear . While it was doing that the maps updated from 22.12 to 23.6 so it does work the way I do it. Snake crawled out as muffler got too hot for it I think Was only a green tree snake.

[I just updated our first gen 2017 162 tsi tiguan. Just unzipped the 25gb file to a micro sd with adapter, put in car, went to version in maps and clicked update.
Went through no issues. Doesn't really feel any different and I went from 2017 to 2024 in one jump. I'll use it tomorrow and see if there is anything different

It really depends where you live and where you drive. Unless you use new roads/motorways or live in or near new greenfield urban release areas where new roads are being created each month, you may not notice a difference at all.

I'm getting some sort of error with this update. I've updated my maps several times before without issue.

The screen shows that I now have the current version but my maps cannot zoom in closer than 40km.

The "version back documention screen" has no option to accept the error code, other than the cancel button.

If I enter an address to navigate to, the voice commands work ane a zoomed out (40km) summary of the route will show, but it's like no close up detail can be showed now



I thought that the file downloaded was corrupted, and so I downloaded it again and repeatedly tried to update, but it made no difference.

I noticed that for the last 2 updates at least, the file size is smaller than it used to be.

Can anyone suggest how I might fix this or at least roll back to the previous map?

Well I havent had trouble but questions

Do you use a PC or a MAC

Secondly I found years ago that you couldnt reload a map over itself on the old RNS510. You could go back a version and then try again. Havent had to on a PRO so not sure. Have never seen the information screen you show

Also if you are d/loading the map which is about 26GB it pays to use a 64gb card as some brands wouldnt take prev maps as they were just a bit too big for the 32gb versions.

Lastly did you try the version above which Flipper Dog posted as that is the latest pro map and does work. Yes I see it says 373 but where did you get it from.

I'll check tonight but I'm 99.9% certain my Card was 64gb.

I did use the version that Flipper Dog had, after first using the file from the international VW site that I have used before.

Card can be formatted either as ExFat or NTFS Have just looked at 3 cards with maps on and all are in ExFat and all work One card only has about 200mb spare with map on it so getting a bit close for comfort

I used a 128GB USB drive that I've used before to update the maps. It was ExFat formatted. From memory the downloaded file was 15Gb and after unzipping with 7 Zip it was 19GB. Can anyone who downloaded the Pro map confirm those sizes?

It seems like my system is missing information to show any map detail closer than 40km in.

If previous versions are available to download, does the Pro let you install an older map?

Ok just downloaded 373 from Flipper as above and yes its 15gb which is much smaller than they used to be. Why not go up to his January version and try using that It wont hurt Will either work or not. I use WIN RAR to unzip it to a HDD and then copy it to a card. You should have 3 lines on the card

Dont alter anything or it wont work Just load the lot and wait.

I downloaded the earlier version. The file size was 10gb larger than the current version.
I received the same error message. But....it all works! I can't explain it. I went for a short drive to confirm.

I'm going away this weekend so at least I will have some maps rather than none at all.

Hopefully the next update will work for me.

Yes the old version worked exactly as it should have. I'm no IT expert but somehow I think that logically the 10gb smaller file size of the current map does contain less overall map data, with the outcome of losing the map image data at the street level.

It's all working on the same system as before so I can't see how the file compression could be more efficient than before, whilst provide the level of detail as in prior updates.

Maybe someone from VW reads this and might be able to figure out why I had the issues with the current map.

It will be interesting to see what the next map update holds.
