Thats looking good! I still want to put 3-way Dynaudio or Morel speakers into my Polo. My ears are getting a little too unaccustomed to my Focal's.
My biggest question is - how easy is it to attach it to the door trims once you have it fibreglassed.GTI|BBS|Forge|Whiteline|Custom CAI+K&N|Sparco|Toyo|Martini|JVC|Focal|ScanGaugeII

How hard it is ? It really depends how you make the pod. Some people build off the door card.(probably most ideal) But I used the contours of the door card as a mould than build a MDF spine for the door pod. So, I simpily I add a few extra screws on the spine and use OEM holes to attach.
If you go to www.fiberglassforums.com, all they talk about is fiberglass (DURR) ! They have really crazy projects and skills, it's really helpful looking for inspiration.

Sanding reappling sanding..... took the majority of the day.... it was a never ending process. I thought I would be smart and use some heavy artillery, the sander work great but I was creating edges, I thought I will just becareful when I sand again.... few hours going in a circles. I realised using sander for flat-ish surface than sand with hand in small areas worked best. I used/wasted almost 3/4 of the "handy man" pack. Matter of fact I could have used less than half only if I knew....
Nevertheless.. I was happy with the test fit, so greatful for the Dremel. I was even more satisfied with the staging..
I need a beer.....
Tomorrow, the A pillar install and more detail sanding.

Awesome! Just awesome!
With that much sound coming from the doors, I would suggest welding the doors and just going dukes of hazzard on the car, there is nothing more embarrassing than a door falling off, Just ask Clarkson when he had the Rover on the the cobblestone test in Season 10

here are 2 other things you can do too.
1. Install Nutserts into door itself. Make a little wooden spacer that fits between door and door skin, So bolt spacer to door. And dorr skin to spacer. That way you will achieve a very nice solid base mount,
What will this turn mean for you?
Well it will mean just this.
No door flex for speakers will occur,
you will have better mid bass response, and now due to running 6" in door to almost act as a miny sub you will get better sub bass response.
Which should also help with your Staging in the car. Bringing the sub as if it near the front of the car and not purely in the back.
Keep up the good work, It should be pretty sweet once done.
I like how you got creative in making the 2 chambers for the speakers.Audi S4 (2001) - Imola Yellow

I started the A pillar today but I came across trouble, I assume I didn't rough up the vinyl enough and the hot glue gun didn't stick well. Hence after I glassed and filled it, the sides started to crack and peel. So I dremeled the side off for now. Should I glass over it again or SHould I just use filler perhaps even silicon ?? (No one is going to see anyways hehe)

i like you effort with aligining the tweeters with the string, someone has got their thinking cap on haha
what sort of filler are you using? looks like your generic sorta stuff from K-mart or similar? this is fine to use, however id suggest that you get something like 'fine fill' (actually the name of it) as it is still strong as normal filler, but is a ****e load easier to sand.
i usually use both for big jobs like yours, first put some cheap bog on to get the right shape and fill the major holes, which is then filed with a rasp to get rid of any bumps that are protruding, and then a final thin layer or two of fine fill or similar
slightly more expensive, but not by much, and cuts your sanding time in half, literally....
keep up the good work mate, nothing like a bling install...1999 MK4 GTi 1.8T - Custom Code Stg 1, ECS Stg 1, 14lb Fly, 18" A8's

Thanks ... I started with one tweeter, than used the circular cut out piece with tape and clip to align the string to the center point, than streched an equal length of string before glueing it in place, worked well. Not exactly pin point accuracy, but it worked.
So where would I get these "fine fill" I went to bunnings to have a look. There are so many differernt once, especially interior painting stuff. I didn't want to take a risk. I used "Septone car filler" from super cheap. Sanded it from 60-150 already. But I am pretty sure I will get additional filler for a nicer finish.
The eye seems to be playing with my mind badly, the tweeter don't seem to be on same level, but the leveler says it's dead on level.

Haha good ****! I think your mind's just playing around - the indented part on the passenger side of the dash makes it look off, but it isn't

im lucky enough to have a place around the corner from my house, however i doubt it would be hard to find somewhere local to you in the yellow pages
just ask for a light filler which is easy to sand
