DNS series head unit (new generation dual core RNS-510 alternative)
Thank you! I had a long chat with the manufacturer, I was told that they do not have such firmware. Offered to buy a new DVD.The fact is that when navigation is muted, pressing the Navi button does not help, need to reload.
Hrm, that doesn't seem right. It honestly sounds like your GPS software isn't configured properly. What software are you using? Also give the firmware I linked on dropbox a go.
I used IGO PRIMO, NAVITEL, and others. At first the sound was off in the front speakers, is now completely disabled. I sent them the video but they are no help. ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iz89JVr9v-E&feature=em-upload_owner-smbtn ) ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mfBj59ZqFMQ ) . Before that I had an ANS-810, there was no such problems.

I haven't watched the video, but the DNS has issues with iGo. The only software that we found to reliably work was Sygic Drive 8.5. iGo was laggy and would be slow when trying to change tracks or volume, could be mistaken for 'muting'.

Anyways, hopefully that fixes your battery drain issues, I wonder if it is even the CANBUS drain issues that the Mk5s had?
Looks like the can update worked.
Car was last driven on Tuesday at 7pm, parked it up and haven't touched it until now (Thursday 9:20pm) and the car fired up like it had a brand new battery in it.
Normally I wouldn't leave it sitting for a full day without starting it and taking it for a drive to keep the battery good.
If I had left it for 2 full days previously I would have been out there jump starting it.

What is the version now? I have bettery drain on 2.32 and 2.34
The DVD function on this unit. Does it have limited features? I cannot find options to zoom, subtitles, etc...
All I can basically do is go from one song to the next. I'm sure it must have a few options as well.
I never used the DVD function (legitimately surprised anyone does at this stage), but yea, I believe, as with most Headunits, it is pretty limited. Personally I wouldn't bother, and frankly, would prefer if they just pulled it out, reduce the BoM cost etc. Probably less than 1% of people would actually use it. USB/SD/iPod/Mirroring is the way these days.
