This is interesting, and I assume many other AVC9000 units were also effected, although there has not been many posters here.
I still have the antenna off mine, awaiting a new one, so may plug the old one back in tomorrow, and see if it comes back to life. I also note that many of the Europeans using a similar gps chipset, have either installed a patch, or the signal came back on 21st. Otheres are now complaining that the gps cannot hold the time correctly. Will see I guess.
