Anyone got the new AVC 9000-1 installed yet?

I'm interested in this as well, just about to order a system - just trying to make up my mind between these two avc-9000 and a couple others, however i do like that is local.

I think the AVC 9000-1 is the latest system? It has full function for the MFD as well whereas the AVC 9000 does not.

What other system are you looking at?

I'm about to get a AVC9000 for my 07 Passat 4motion wagon and I think I will get the AVC9000.1. It looks almost the same as the OEM RNS510 satnav and is the main reason I want to get this unit instead of the AVC9000. I will let you know how it goes when I put it in.

the AVC-9000-1 is just a rebranded version of the Waywell WD6050 v2 that has been around for a little while. A few have already bought it but there have been reports of issues with the unit not turning off by itself and MFD integration being buggy.

Personally, I would wait a little while until its resolved.

Really? I know the AVC-9000 was quite different to the Waywell unit.

The original AVC9000 is not related to this new AVC9000-1 in any way. Different manufacturers. Auspack just decided to give them very similar names.

^ What he said ^ I have the waywell 6050 v1 and it works great, but lacks integration with the MFD (not that it's a problem for me, since I have the older half height MFD which only has a trip computer anyway). I know someone locally who has the v2 version and it does not turn off & on with the ignition. Best to wait a while until the v2 problems are resolved. There is a loooong thread all about it on golfmkv.

I've just taken a delivery of a Passat and very dissapointed to find the factory GPS system doesn't have school zone, camera or speed zone warnings that exist on the cheapest portable GPS systems. Do you have a fix???

He later started a thread where he priced it at 2200AUD, and when he was crucified for gouging said 'oops, sorry made a mistake, it's only 1800'.

Even at 999USD, it doesn't seem to be worth the extra cost vs the Waywell unit at ~500USD.
