Hi and welcome to the forum!!
I couldnt afford to take over the distribution of the AVCs at the moment.
The Witson and AVCs are different and by all accounts it seems the AVCs are superior in my view. If you go to page 1 there is an email address that you could try as far as getting an AVC. I know some of the others have managed to procure some over the last couple of weeks.

Andrew's process fell through unfortunately. (EDIT: doh... Andrew beat me)

The AVC9000 is available from Rob @ Auspack electronics for a limited time (last shipment before he closes the business?). I had an email from Rob last night stating the units (mine included) were in stock.

For those that have followed this thread for some time, I actually had an RNS510 that faulted (dodgy Bluetooth install) and VW would not assist so I purchased an AVC9000 from Auspack about 3 months ago and installed it.
I also installed iGo Maps which work brilliant as does the whole unit, but I did not give up on getting my RNS 510 repaired or replaced. Finally VW agreed to replace it with a newbie. If anyone is interested in purchasing my AVC9000 let me know, it is in perfect working order.

What I can say with experience is that the RNS510 is definately overpriced but a fantastic unit and always the preferred option of the two. The AVC 9000 is also outstanding with it’s features all rolled in. The only downside of the AVC9000 and the VW guys liked the functionality, is its screens are difficult to see in the daytime but are brilliant at night. And the flashing lights on the radio screen just drove me nuts, as for sound, DVD, Sat Nav, iPod, Bluetooth(works as good as any) and reverse camera they are an outstanding system. It just seems there are new ones popping up each week and it doesn’t sound like they are improved models by the feedback on this thread…..

In the interim, you need to find an adapter, that will convert your 2 Fakra plugs into the 1 common radio antenna plug.
The AVC comes with 1, but for best reception, you should try to use both aerials.

The screen is very easily installed. It is literally plug and play. Only tiny problem is the 2 antenna leads. If you can't find a Y piece to merge them, connect the brown one. The other is white.
If you are going to install a rear cam, then that will be the major part, as you will need to route wiring through the car, as well as find a location for the lens.
