hi all

i asked HiTV to let me know the best price they could do on their HiTV V2000 unit, their response below:-

The price we can offer to you is $1999. Installation cost will be around $300.
Unfortunately it does not come with a reverse camera.

Thats very expensive. The AVC's are less than half that price.
The unit took me 1-1.5 hours to install and setup. The camera took me a lot longer!!

I made an enquiry to Witson,HK, and below was their response.
If you take a look at Witson's site, they have 3 products
W2-D720V
W2-721V
W2-722V
Hard to see the exact differences between them. I could not see any of those on their agent ( www.tradesolution.hk/e/default_home.asp ), but they did have other coded models.
I wonder if Auspack, if they are no longer in the business, would give us the name of his old supplier?

bring that on, i'd love to know if you are going to be the dealer - even if it is for VWW members cause it would be a massive help and to be honest the AVCs look the good for the price.

They are a great unit, especially at the price. I awaiting a reply and shoupld have some news next week hopefully.

when you get confirmation of availability, shipping dates, maps loaded, prices, etc then do you think its best if people PM you for orders?

edit - by the way, cracker of a location for the camera (is it the same on a Pacific TDi?) and your car looks very nice on those coilovers...

Thanks mate, I reckon the normal model rear bumpers shouldn't be much different, I will be fitting a unit to a TDI in 2 weeks time so I will have some pics of that.

I have been thinking about offering assistance, but my work schedule precludes me from offering the kind of service that the members on here deserve. (I am only home for 1 week out of 3).

Can't wait for my AVC9000 to arrive. Not sure if I am looking forward to the reverse camera hook up.

I returned the Unit I got last week as it definitely was not up to scratch. The Nav was Route66 which I thought was rubbish. The DVD did not play too well, and worst of all, you could not play music while in Nav mode.
I got a full refund.
If anyone is going to import these items it is essential, if they wish to be successful, is that they ensure the following:
1. Operating System should be no earlier than CE 5.0
2. Nav software is TomTom
3. DVD is Multi region
4. It supports either SD or USB drives
5. It interfaces with CANBUS and therefore steering wheel buttons function
6. Has to be able to play music in background while in Nav mode
7. Has to be touchscreen
8. It has bluetooth, and if possible also interfaces with the steering button for phone.
