    Fuel Consumption Parameters in FIS+

A number of people have asked about getting fuel consumption figures displayed in the FIS+, as it's currently only availabkle in the MFD info screen.

Unfortunately as it turns out it's not a parameter that is available from the ECU. Instead these values are calculated in the MFD and the trip reset button is for the trip and averages in the MFD. THe Auto-Polar guys don't believe there is a way to extract this data from the MFD - at least not in the same way as you can read from the ECU.

So this is not a simple exercise of reading a parameter and displaying it. Raw data will have to be read and calculations performed in the FIS+. As for average fuel consumption data this will require a trip meter of some sorts with a user reset function. It is all possible but requires a lot more effort/development/testing than just reading another parameter from the ECU.

So thought I'd just post this as it has been asked for a number of times. The autopolar guys have looked at it, however at this stage I don't think there's an easy way around the problem other than for them to write a completely separate trip/fuel computer inside the FIS+.

Sorry for the long answer but hopefully you can now understand/appreciate that it's not a simple thing to implement. If it was I'm sure the Auto-Polar guys would have done it a while ago as it has been requested a number of times.

Who knows it may get put into 0.3.6 with any luck!!!

The two new Parktronic functions include:

I was talking about auto-closing on sensing rain.... not cats

My cat jumped into the car, I remotely closed the window
The look on it's face looking out of the now closed window was priceless (what am I gonna do now?)

Same here - I time the window opening just as someone else is about to walk past to freak 'em out

I do that also - they are always closed when I return to the car after work
(This is prior to installing the Polar FIS)

I love using the key to fully open the windows before reaching the car - really useful
Hate openning the door and getting a blast of hot air

Yeah - that does not work for me at all - hence using manual mode at present

Isn't there a normal MFD setting for that - or it's at least available via VCDS. I prefer to have manual control by holding lock/unlock on the key fob (i.e I'll often get out of the car, hold unlock to open all windows a smidge, then lock the car).

I'm using manual mode as I find it useful to have the mirror dipping when reversing out the driveway.... and I don't want to have the indicator on while doing this

I haven't played around with the trim much. The offset changes the position the mirror returns to. If you find it returns too high/low you can adjust the return position up or down using the offset value.
