Mirror dipping in automatic mode only works when you have the indicator on i.e. when reverse parallel parking.
I haven't played around with the trim much. The offset changes the position the mirror returns to. If you find it returns too high/low you can adjust the return position up or down using the offset value.

Thanks mate - you're absolutely correct - the problem was my VCDS

I'm running V12 which is beta - it was saying the software is "out of date" on startup, but it's not connected to the network so I assumed it was time limited - I've upgraded to the latest V12 beta and everything is working now (phew!)

Now - to configure the screen contents to display
Screen 2 is almost impossible to scroll to, get's skipped 7 times out of 10
I am also having problems with the window dipping feature despite reading/watching info - will try again
Update: Window dipping in manual mode working (does automatic only work with the car operating?)
Does the trim alter the dipped or driving position???

However my VCDS no longer works (cable does get a green LED - still looking into this problem) even when I turn the Polar FIS off
You should just need to go off the PHONE screen in your MFD (so the Auto-Polar will stop requesting data) and then VCDS will work. Just make sure you're onany other screen in your MFD and you should be fine.

This photo from Transporter, Golf MKVI, is very similar to what you will find in the Skoda Octavia II 2011/2012
Note however, the gateway cable has a security lock and it's on the back, tricky

Google warnings don't have anything to do with local antivirus on your PC.

The warning is gone now anyway, maybe their certificate expired and they've just replaced it with a new one.

Yes Auto-Polar updater only works with ie not chrome or Mozilla. And yes have to enable unsigned active-x.
I updated last week with no issues.

I would only assume it's to do with the uncertified ActiveX control on the update page (which wouldn't even work in Google Chrome anyway).

Thanks Orzram for your kind words. Though if I'd paid money for something I'd want it to work properly too.

Hopefully you get many hours of motoring enjoyment out of it

Just a quick update on my unit falling to sleep when I locked the car - turns out either the wiring harness or the 'box of tricks' was faulty. Excellent response from the Polar website. A big thanks to Damien for sending out a brand new unit and a return post pack. Top service kind sir.
