I should've given you mine mate - it's still sitting on my shelf!
Given the number of these that you've brought in already (and your sig), you'll need to set up shop as an official Australian distributor.
It's no problem really. I've got some other things I'm looking to sort out with the car... plus waitig for Transporter to locate the CANbus in the Tiguan.
I've actually agreed with Auto-polar to be point of contact for Australia. They are keen to get some local support and stocking of the product in the country (which I'm essentially doing already).
I'm sure this didn't happen yesterday but on both occasions today when I started the car my RNS510 said 'Diagnostics Connected' for at least 30 seconds, which meant I had to choose between waiting for it to go away or not be able to use my reverse camera. Had a quick look in the settings to see what could cause it, and noticed that in the RNS510 menu it said that the secret menu was on. However yesterday it said that it was turned off - and I didn't bother changing that since the firmware already enables it. Anyone got any clues?

The FIS+ can enable the secret menus. Try deselecting this option in the FIS+ menus.

The 2 times I started the car with the FIS+ unit working I saw this 'Diagnostics Connected' message on the RNS screen for about 10 seconds. I just assumed this was how the FIS+ box did its magic and would happen each time the engine was started.
I didn't think about the delay when trying to reverse out of a park and wanting to use the reversing camera - but then again I've found the RVC so slow to start up that I'm usually out of the spot and driving off before the camera comes to life anyway.
Yeah not usually a problem, except I have a steep driveway that I need to reverse up quickly (to avoid clutch going in automatically), and there are often kids skating around on my street and the footpath. It was a near-miss that prompted my to retrofit the camera (since it has a wide FoV so I see around the corner before I get there).

Did unticking the option fix the problem? I'm like you and like to use my reversing camera as I reverse off when heading out of my driveway... having the diagnostics message come up every time would be a real hassle.
Incidentally, I think I've seen a comment about this on the Autopolar forums. From memory the developer said that it should only happen the first time and not subsequently, and that if it does, you should contact them with your details.
After my issues getting the first unit working with my R, Damien shipped me a replacement unit pretty much straight away which arrived earlier this week.
Now that I've got the cubby-hole access sorted it took no more than 30 seconds to install the replacement unit and confirm that it's all working perfectly now. There was an additional recommended 'synchronisation' task to perform at the recommendation of Auto Polar after plugging in the unit but other than that everything is as it should be.
Now I need to decide what information I would like displayed on each available screen.
