Alright guys. I've got a modified 4020 working with 90/5/5 partitions, VIM and the test menu pre-activated.

The CRC that was being generated didn't appear to have the right value. I used one that JS sent me and it worked. Not sure why my SetConfig was throwing out a dud. Perhaps I just missed a small detail. I don't know, but I made a .ISO of the disc that I used which worked, so there is no room for error there.

Sounds more like they have changed the crc16 calculation used to protect the files.

Thanks johnc, will try this tomorrow, i bought mine as a Version D, its showed different versions on VCDS and test menu (due to firmware?) but im assuming that because it has a 40gb hard drive its the version D. (and that i installed firmware 3xxx before it was modified etc).

I'm surprised people still use RapidShare or those other sites that make you wait to d/l. I wasn't phased at all when MU was taken down.

My private server is full and I didn't want the extra traffic anyway. I spent quite a while getting it to work, with numerous tests, and then uploaded it. I would have much rather been doing something interesting I assure you.

Not sure if it will work on a B or C unit.
