Now the unit is stating:

A SWL error occurred and now the Maximum SWL Error Count has been reached. SWL is now blocked until a power cycle is instigated using the following 3 buttons:

Europe, China, Japan: SETUP, MIC, EJECT
North America Region: GUIDE, Day/Night, EJECT
North America Hybrid: CAR, Day/Night, EJECT

So im guessing Australia falls under the Europe, China and Japan one? As I dont see a GUIDE, Day/Night or Car button mentioned on the unit.

yep...it's a EURO unit.

Could clear that by going into the "secret menu" (Hold "SETUP" for about 15 seconds...) In the secret menu, you will see the option to clear memory/errors (or similar)

Anyone re-installed one of the boot logos at 402x firmware? Have only tried twice but it reports a SWL error. Haven't had a chance to do any debug yet just wanted to see if its my issue or a more general one...

Hey karnold, I did this today, just put the cd in, ran it, it gave a swl error saying it was a downgrade. I then pressed the reset sequence, and it installed just fine

Ok maybe it's the sequence. I've been enabling downgrade prior to inserting the cd. Will give that a whirl.

Have definitely re-loaded my custom logo after upgrading to FW 4020, by first enabling downgrade.

But my logo isn't one of johnc's.

BTW, still don't know wtf it's suppose to have improved.

Both visually and performance wise ... not noticing any difference/improvement on my C unit.

Certainly still lagging with showing my actual position and rotating map when cornering.

Yeah don't seem to be any real feature improvements looks like any changes are under the covers.

Firstly,thanks John for your work. Prior to updating to FW3810, I had no problems applying your boot screens. But after 3810, I can't get them to load. I've tried everything I can, burning at x1, allowing downgrade, and rebooting, but I still get this

Software Loading Error (010306)

.....and the cd ejects.

Seems to have something to do with FW3810??

Can you suggest anything please?

Create your own custom bootlogo for RNS510

Try firstly removing SDcard from the slot if there is one in there.
Try burning track-at-once.
Try using a DVD-R instead of CDR.

after that i can't recovery my Startup log, neither my HDD
can you please advise?
