RNS510 Australia V4 maps out ?

Q4 2009 is still about almost 2 years old though when you consider it.
Hopefully we get something more like Q4 2010.

They're rolling these maps out like they're fcuking Sciroccos or something!

Can hardly call this a V4 map! More like a mini update or V3.1 (at best) and should just be made free for those with original V3 maps.

FWIW, I don't think there's any harm in loading the disk MikeB.
You have the option just to trial it and not save the V3.1 map onto the HDD and just let the RNS510 read it off the disk.

it says whereis as the map supplier

I'm gonna sound like a broken record here but ... Does your on screen POI button work when running the above map?

In other words, does it bring up any results with a POI search and are they actually useable/selectable as a new destination?

Our ebay man has dropped his $150 asking price to $100.

he's a bit elusive when I've been emailing him, but biding has started so someone wants it. Anyone off the forum biding ?

I thought I could maybe afford $100 to find out (certainly won't entertain $500+ if that's what VW will ask for a few cents worth of plastic and some already out-dated software...) so emailed him to see if he'd post one.

Here's his reply:

but if someone is game enough to meet him face to face and have the DVD install while he waits for his payment - we might know whether he's nervous and sincere and comes out smelling sweet, or just that fishy odour.

He told me via email he'd do paypal and then changed his mind - that was enough to put me off for now

My guess is that he looks like this whenever he needs his car serviced (if you believe everything you see on TV).

But on this occasion, when he accidentally comes across by a map disk (in his line of work).

Yep with V3, it only works when running FW 2760 or lower.

But when you have the chance (after settling in with the new car), please let us know about V4 POIs?

Yeah, so that confirms my thoughts. Their versions are only for the pre-RNS510 sat nav systems.

how can there be an update when wheris/sensis themselves have said for a while now that there is no update (v17) for vw/audi?!?!?
the next one, v18 (or 'v4' in vag speak), is not due out till q4 2011, or q1 2012!!

this "v4" is most likely someone who has probably made some additional custom POIs and categories, re-created the DVD, and given it a new version.
