The VW premium bluetooth system integrates very well with the MFS and RNS, and is a hundred times better than the basic system in my parents Ford BF. How many cars let you scroll through your address book using the steering wheel buttons?

If you have had the bluetooth $550 option factory installed (the 9w2 I believe) do you get a shark fin antenna with the car even if you have not ordered an RNS510 (Car is coming with a RCD310 and being dealer fitted with a RCD510)? I ask because on Aerial Information for Volkswagen Golf | my-gti.com it seems like you get a shark fin antenna for the bluetooth.
I ask because I'm thinking about getting an RNS510 retrofitted and was wondering if it does come with the shark fin and if I could use it with the RNS510?Last edited by toranova; 19-01-2011, 12:01 PM.

No... it's 9ZBOriginally posted by toranova View PostIf you have had the bluetooth $550 option factory installed (the 9w2 I believe)
No, the roof antena is for GPS only. Therefore RNS510 has to be fitted from the factory.Originally posted by toranova View Postdo you get a shark fin antenna with the car even if you have not ordered an RNS510

Yeah - the GPS works fine if you put the antenna in the dash just behind the air vent. Even in tunnels and in the Melbourne CBD mine works fine. It only gets confused on some twisty mountain roads with large trees everywhere, but that's fair enough.Last edited by Ryan_R; 19-01-2011, 03:05 PM.

I have unit installed generally works fine however it will intermittently seem to lose bluetooth connectivity as shown up on screen as phone not connected .
I have never had dropouts while making calls
is it likely to be a loose connection ?
programming issue or fault in unit?

I was wondering if it would be possible to add the OEM Bluetooth option aftermarket that is fully integrated into the MFD Plus and my RCD510?
I asked my dealer and he said no? So i was wondering if he is right or wrong.Current: |MY15 W205 Mercedes-Benz C250 | Polar White | AMG | COMAND | VISION |

As long as you have white MFD, I don't see the reason why it shouldn't be possible?Originally posted by Kwoka View PostI was wondering if it would be possible to add the OEM Bluetooth option aftermarket that is fully integrated into the MFD Plus and my RCD510?

If you're in Sydney, that's what 2 north shore VW dealers told me too, something about "factory cellular preparation", which couldn't be done at a dealer. They're wrong.Originally posted by Kwoka View PostI was wondering if it would be possible to add the OEM Bluetooth option aftermarket that is fully integrated into the MFD Plus and my RCD510?
