First - Which module should I buy

    POLAND Ebay person - 7P6035730 - ? 9W7
    SPAIN Ebay person - 5K0035730 - ? 9WZ

    Thanks!

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but isn't the part number for the 9WZ, 3c8035730a?
When I plug my vagcom, that is the part number that comes up in my van.

Yes you are right -sorry. The SPAIN Ebay person messaged me and said that the 5K0 035 730 is a brand new module, even newer than the 7P6035730 C (9w7). He said either is fine for me (VW Polo 2011).

      _____________

Should I stick with ordering the 7P6 035 730 C because it seems "proven" ??? If it doesn't work with the RCD310 I guess I'll be forced to upgrade to the RNS510

      • This seller from Portugal has the 7P6 035 730 C unit for cheaper than the Spain and Poland shops. Costs EUR 155 + 25:

        Bluetooth VW RNS 510 9W7 UHV/RSAP AD2P / 7P6035730C /D bei eBay.de: Einbau-Navigationssysteme (endet 31.03.11 01:05:28 MESZ)

It doesn't come with cable or micro, but you can order that separate from Poland for EUR 40+30 and it still works out cheaper:

        BT KABELSATZ OEM

        Just a suggestion

Pretty much! Use the pinout diagram on Maverick's site (my-gti.com) and the existing plug as a guide as to what needs to go where. One thing to note: the cable to the mic in my R was a coax type cable, so you have to do a bit of careful cutting after you cut it and also make sure it's well shielded after you put it all back together.

Yes, it would be logical to connect the bluetooth kit "mic in" wires to the "mic out" pins of the rns510. So rns510 receives the mic input first (for voice control) and passes it to the bluetooth unit for .. bluetooth !

                • Stereo or all speaker mono?

Hi guys, just got my Spain 9w7 kit installed - it seems to be mono to all speakers, not stereo from my testing. Can anyone test and confirm? It's not obvious from normal listening - sounds awesome but I did some test tracks and confirmed.

Hi, I saw something online about re-wiring the harness for two channels: Bluetooth 9W7/9WZ pinouts?

Although the fact you have mono coming out of both speakers indicates two channels are indeed being carried across.

What BT phone are you using? Perhaps it doesn't support A2DP/stereo? My old Nokia would only use "standard" BT audio, and it was mono

                    • Thanks YL I have seen this before - the old harnesses didn't have wires for left channel so different issue. I have left speaker but it's all mono - same left and right. I have iPhone 4. Reason I suspect something is the dealer told me the new cars only have mono also - before I ordered it.

Either way if we can confirm that it is stereo in factory cars, or that the iPhone only does mono, or that the Spain wiring harness is no good! If anyone can have a play and let me know it would be great. My kit was 5K0 035 730

                      Cheers!

For simplicity, i ditched the RNS510 voice control and wired the mic directly to the BT module.... in 9 months i've hardly used voice control for the RNS, keying in data has been more reliable and quicker... i might try wiring the RNS in over the weekend.

So far, its working well, steering wheel controls work etc...

                        • Thanks for all the info in this thread people . I purchased the VW 9ZB / 9WZ 5N0 035 730 D from the Spanish fella on Ebay last wednesday evening. I paid for the express delivery option and it arrived on Monday . $340 for premium bluetooth is better than a couple of grand going to the dealers in my opinion. Ebay link here

Install was straight forward and the unit worked as it should out of the box without the need for any extra parts. An enjoyable tinker in the garage with a few beers. Install took about 2 hours.

Install was on a 2010 gti with an RCD510. Best hands free kit I have used by far. It works wonderfully with an Iphone 4. Have not tested it on other phones.

The bluetooth module just slots into the OEM position under the drivers seat perfectly and is held in place with uber sticky velcro. The most difficult part of the install was running the wiring harness along the existing loom in the door sill and across to the underside of the seat. The only other difficult part of the install was safely removing the A panel trim. I found some decent instruction on how to remove the A panel trim safely atmy-gti.com....

The only thing left to do is find someone in Sydney who is willing to do some VAGCOM VCDS coding for the steering wheel controls for a slab of beer. Any takers? PM me.

                            • I have been following up with eBay Spanish guy. Won't give mr a straight answer and says nothing wrong - I don't know if it's 9w7 or wiring loom - but mine is mono through all speakers. Hard to tell as still sounds good.

Very interested to hear on others?

Also need coding for ptt button in canberra - dealer doesn't know how

                              • Hi Omee,
I did a comparison between Mdi connection and Bluetooth audio streaming. So confirmed musics streams in stereo.

Phone calls however are mono. But I think that is how it should be.
