    Hi Don,

Thanks for feedback. Apologies I haven't responded sooner - unfortunately, this forum doesn't seem to work the same as previous forums I've been on, in that I don't get an automatic page showing my subscribed threads that have been responded to... I have to go searching through my profile settings to load my subscribed posts... and I didn't realise anyone had made any further posts in here (or am I doing it wrong?)

I've enabled the engineering menu on my car some time ago, but honestly didn't really understand much of it. I didn't have much of a poke around, as it didn't make much sense, and from memory, it didn't have the same "return button" to return to the previous menu, as the main MIB system, so I couldn't work out how to go back through the screens - I seemed to have to close & then re-start the engineering menu from scratch every time I wanted to look at something different.

Will have more of a play around again and see if I can identify anything.

Question: I've used the one-click app (only cost 10 credits, and I haven't seen the long-coding for this listed anywhere) to enable the "automatic lock doors if key is outside vehicle" function.

However - it's WAAAYYYY too quick to do so.
I've barely closed the door and set both feet on the ground (with the key either in my pocket or hand) and the car is already locking the doors.

While this is the intended purpose, I'd like to delay the time-frame of locking to something more realistic, like 10 seconds, or a particular distance away from the car.
Does anyone know the long-coding parameters I need for this?

Eg: the auto-locking is SO instant, that it's instantly locked and mirrors-folded, when I close the drivers door - yet my passengers haven't even opened their doors to get out yet!
Also makes getting out of the car and going to the boot a frustration, as it's locked before I get to the back of the car.

If I could set a longer time, or something like 10m away from car, before locking occurs, this would be much more realistic.

      Any and all help appreciated.

Hi All, Got an ODBeleven last week, got the app, got it connected and then put it aside over the break as to many other things on. Picked it up this morning and had a fiddle, neat thing. Turned on the TMC as walked through by DV52 back on page three of this thready, worked a treat, ill be interested how it works when I can get out on the road with it. I am also interested in coding Dynamic LED Indicators on the MkVII Golf R, like this:

          Is this possible?
          Thanks in anticipation,

Stewie: Ironically the very next video after the one that you posted answers your question (see below)!!!

Alas, "Leuchte programming" isn't able to provide a delay between the inner/outer lights as shown in your video. With coding, you can have counter-blinking turn signals, or synchronous blinking turn signals.

The effect that is in the video is achieved by adding a separate piece of hardware (and an adapter cable). So no coding needed - just hardware

            Don

Please don't PM to ask questions about coding, or vehicle repairs. The better place to deal with these matters is in the forum proper. That way you get the benefit of the wider expertise of other forum members! Thank you.

                Thanks Don,

What I didnt really want to hear, , not the last disappointment that I will face I suspect, .

Found the adaptor kit at VW central for AU$200, need to work out if I want them that much.

Thanks again for the speedy response Don

Hey Stewie, is not the "pace car" indicator adaptation "close enough" to what you want? Especially at zero cost to programme using either OBD11 or VCDS.

                      Hope this isn't off-topic folks.
I have a 2012 T5.1 Transporter and am considering buying the OBDeleven with dongle.
Would OBDeleven allow me access to the Distance Impulse Number on my vehicle? I would like to calibrate the speedometer for new tyres/rims. I can increase the sizes in Queensland (within ADR limits) IF the speedometer is also within ADR limits. This means I need to "recalibrate" the speedometer. As I understand things, a GPS "speedo" is not acceptable to the law so the instrument panel needs to be accurate.

If anyone has a comment here I'd appreciate it - or if there are pointers to posts where people have made the DIN changes. I DO understand that this can be done on some sedans, at least.

                      Thanks in advance.

transaru: I assume that you will want to alter Byte 0, Bit0-3 in the Instrument control module (@ address hex17) as shown below using VCDS

I suspect that OBD11 will be able to do this (if you buy the PRO unit), but you need to understand that it does things a little different to VCDS. OBD11 doesn't have a long coding helper screen, so you won't be able to change Bit 0-3 in one operation like VCDS. You probably will need to change each individual Bit and I suspect that you will need to "interpret" the meaning of each Bit.

But it should be doable - I reckon

Thought id chime in and say i used my OBDeleven Pro to help install a GTI paddle shift steering wheel into my Jetta. Was great to use and the backup function gave me a lot of 'piece of mind', as this was my first time delving into mods that needed codding to work.

I originally got OBDeleven for diagnostics as i was having a few issues with numerous intermittent CEL's, and having an in depth VAG-specific look at things really help sort out the issues i was having. Highly recommend anyone new to the VAG game to get themselves one. Great help for diagnostics, but also has lots of awesome coding mods for the newer generations ( MK7 etc)

                            Don,

Thanks so much for this. You give me a little more confidence that this is the route to go. A pity there is no one around here in Brisbane I can see who has a VCDS I can use to look at my car.

I'll be sure to put any experience I gain up on the forum.
