    Don't worry about it mate - it isn't important.

    Imagine the impact if factory backed ECU remaps were offered here.

    Tuning companies would find it interesting

      you may have misunderstood. the dealer was offering a remap service when you purchase the car. just reselling someone elses services. it wasnt skoda themselves offering the remap.

      probably similar to putting thule roof racks or a towbar on a car.

        Confused

        So it is or isn't under Skoda factory warranty

        Most dealerships selling new cars get in a heap of trouble if they even hint at recommending aftermarket ECU remaps.

          Regarding the "too new to tune" subject

          How do people advocating "too new to tune", view replacement of stock items such as brakes, suspension, intakes ....

            as in upgrades of such items?

            im all for it, to a point......... 'bolt on' parts are generally overlooked by dealers. at least until there is a problem

              I usually tell people to wait till they've clocked up say 5K kms or so just to see if there's anything that doesn't seem correct and the engine will be a teeny bit looser by then too.
              Many dealers/staff will offer you something on the side, happens everywhere. Just do it - no bias of course

                i noticed a massive difference in engine flexibility and tractability from say 500km's to 2000km's on the clock.
                i think that's also with the more km's on, the harsher my right foot became (and continues to become).

                I also noted in my case that engine oil temps were not rising as high in the first few hundred km's (would struggle to get over 85 degrees) and now it gets to 90 plus quite easily. That said, the R doesnt see the temps my MK6 GTI did....
                not sure if that's a function of teh engine bedding or the oil bedding....
                More opportunites have been lost from indecision, rather than wrong decision....

                  interesting you say that - I see a big difference between the analog dial (which gets to 90 deg relatively quickly) and the digital read out on the MFD (which takes a lot longer to get to 80-90 deg).

                    Huh, what analog oil temp gauge ?

                    Re oil temps, mine have always been the same from new.

                      i think he means the analogue water temp gauge hitting 90. actually the water temp fluctuates a lot, but the gauges are padded so they wont move. im happy that there is an oil temp gauge that is accurate

                        I drove my S3 from the dealer(approx 30KM) put it on the hoist and ripped it apart to do the APR stage3 plus clutch and flywheel brakes wheels coilovers diff controller sway bars and more. Its been back for a couple of warranty issues( a/c pump and interior bits) no questions asked.In fact most of the staff there wanted a ride in it.Got 30,000KM on it now and no problems at all, still a great car to drive anytime.

                            Analogue = water temp
                            MFD = Oil Temp

                              Glad I have the P3 gauge

                                Yep. I had what can only be described as a brain fart! Oil, water, whatever...

                                Now, those big dials with the blue needles - what are they all about?
