We have loaded GIAC tunes on cars with less than 100kms on them. The only real concern is to make sure you dont have any warranty concerns before modifying it. For this reason I usually tell people to put a couple thousand kms on the car first.
The car is already run in, happens in the first 100 km
Clearly, be sensible but go for it.
Unless you plan all out hardware and software changes.
You could always wait until after the first service but you have to put up with the stock tune for 14,000 more km. Not a major issue and gives you time to see what the car can do.
The R is a great car stock so just depends what you want. Plenty are happy to stay stock.
Look for an offering that will give you some kind of warranty, especially as issues usually occur with new cars in the first year
1) Drive the car in stock form for a little while (so it was stock for about 2.5 months/1,500km)
2) See if it was going to have any immediate issues with the engine/trans that would require warranty work
Some people tune almost immediately, others wait a little while, others wait 3 yrs until the warranty period is over - its personal i guess.

This sounds like a sensible way to go. Maybe wait till after the first service, get a relationship going with the dealer..and all that
I would wait a little bit. I remember there was someone with a brand new Golf6 and his ECU died shortly after he picked the car up. I don't think he have done even 1500km. Imagine you tune it and ECU fails next day.
It was a brand new car. Yes, it's not common that ECU fails in a brand new VAG car, but it did happen (maybe even in 2 cars in one year, Corey_R would probably remember), so for that reason I would wait.
