Still figuring out more about ARP and Bluefin tuning...

But definitely I have put the Forge CAI and S3 IC on my list of mods

That campaign was pretty early in the MK6 Golf's life, possibly even before the APR tune was available. From what I've seen on the forum there's no trend to suggest that having the APR software increases the chance of having problems.

Later 118TSI's were released with a better fuel pump, and APR revised its Stage 1 ECU upgrade file to take advantage of this and offer more power (late last year).

Hi guys,

Was thinking of getting the APR stage 1 tune for my MY11 118TSI. Got some questions.

1. Given the 1.4 TSI engine has had a history of engine failure (resolved by service campaign 24S4), does anyone know of an APR tune 1.4 TSI engine failing? I searched around the forum for about an hour and couldn't find anything.

2. Did APR revise their tune to take into account changes done by service campaign 24S4? Or are they completely different things and the APR tune won't overwrite whatever settings were done via 24S4?

The campaign had several calibration changes that are incorporated in the APR tune, so no issues there

Not sure yet, but that is definitely a possibility.

If you can read the part numbers off your fuel pump & send them to me I can check for you. Otherwise when its plugged into the APR server, it will let us know - smart thing that server

I had a quick look for that fuel pump label on Sunday (just as those heavy rains started) but couldn't find what I was looking for near the back on the right side. I'm not sure if it's supposed to be easily visible or if I have to remove certain parts.

Out of interest, whats the performance diff of the stage 1 tune with old pump vs new pump?

I think about 8 - 9 kw & similar torque (thats off the top of my head), we never bothered updating the website to show the extra gains, we stuck with the lower figures - owners of the later ones get a bonus! If you have the early pump, you can purchase the later pump (although we have never done it or priced it up).

yeah, don't have anything official, we only personally ran the polo's on the dyno's, but Golf owners have been loving the extra as well. When we get our new dyno installed, we will be able to do a lot more of that in house.
