That one actually looks like a proper re-mapped chip, so it could be OK... I still question why so cheap...

If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you.

I tell ya what - why dont YOU try it and let us know.

It's a bit like organising a fight out the back of a pub and saying if I'm not there in 5 - start without me!

I reckon save up and get a real chip from one of the leading brands. APR, GIAC just to name a few.

Dont ask which ones better coz i'll shoot you. Im sure there are a few here that would be more than happy to take you for a spin.

Has anyone got any fairly cheap options for a Mod chip? Also while im on the topic does anyone know the whereabouts of the IAT sensor on a 2003 Bora 4motion Sport?

          Cheers

Nathan. Post up your location details and ya never know ... you might be lucky enough to be offered a drive in a 'real' chipped car.

I have the exact same chip in my mk2, It has made a nice little boost for the price. It has stopped the digi lag as they call it. For $50 to your door you can't go wrong. Not much else you can do to digi 2 unless you go standalone.

Haha Yeah I am considering it! Im on the Northern beaches in Sydney if has a chip they wanna show off! Im open to options. I def need a bit more grunt. Getting sick of the gutless 1st gear. What would be my price range for a "good" chip. Does anyone know of any good VW performance places around brooky or sydney city somewhere?

I've researched chips for the mk3 and the prices range from around 75-120 so 50-100 bucks is far from unreasonable, although hardly any of them are suitable for our aussie car cpu's you might have problems finding a chip on that basis.

I'm gonna have a go on one of those mk3 Gl chips for 30 pounds, I'll tell everyone how it goes

I think since I bought it they came down due to the US Dollar, The gain I got was about 14kw at the wheels

                          didnt u say u dynoed @ 112kw in canberra

                          then u got 114 @ mainline..

dont think u got 14kw @ d wheels from the chip.. thats like a turboed car almost. u prob got like 8kw max.

Canberra dyno was a joke if I went there again I would have hit 125kw 30 year old dyno, its not going to work that good anymore!

So the mainline dyno was the first dyno run. Against a stock vr6 it got 14kw gain at the wheels

but your chip didnt give you 14kw's.. all the other mods added up to 14k'ws @ d wheels. so pretty much the 800 u spent prob gave u half of your gains, maybe even less.

                                hey steve,

what kmh load resistance did the dyno have???should say on the bottom on your dyno sheet........

                                speed(KPH)/Engine Speed[tacho] @ XX KPH/sec UP

whats the XX on your dyno sheet???

and did you do a dyno prior to chip and after chip? or just after all mods+chip??

sorry to post this here... missed your other thread.
if you want, post with a link to your other thread and ill move all this to it.
