Sharkie's reply came after another post by a forum member who is neither a customer of APR or Evolve Technik. I deleted that post it was not required and just continued the conflict which I had specifically asked to be ended. So it's ok, Sharkie was just asking the person to leave this thread to the topic of Evolve Technik, but I can see how it looks strange without the post I deleted.Last edited by Corey_R; 12-02-2011, 02:12 PM.

It very much sounds like sour grapes from old mate manol for whatever reason.
I'm also happy to have frequented the Melbourne arm of this Brisbane backyard operation....

glad you like the tune, REXman - evolve will likely be seeing my next car (by the end of the year, hopefully).
p.s. just like greg (kaanage) asked, does anyone know where evolve gets their maps? they're amongst the more aggressive out there, numbers wise

I think it's just the CC tuning maps. Same 232 kilowatts and 440 nm. Must be.
They are like APR in that just get an email and put it on.2010 MY11 GOLF R - 5DR | DSG | RISING BLUE | DYNAUDIO + ACC + BLUETOOTH + 19s + RNS510 |

I think the beauty of selling tunes under your own brand locally is that you dont need to limit yourself to one particular source. Not saying this is the case with evolve but you would be silly to limit yourself if you didnt have to.

Guys - don't forget that you can also check if these "tune workshops" have a tune for the Audi S3 if the Golf R isn't listed on their website. I cant find the Golf R listed on the Revo or GIAC website either. Pretty high chance that if they tune the S3 (identical engine to the Golf R) that they will also tune the Golf R. Obviously you should back this up by calling or emailing the place to verify - but you could use the S3 as a first point of reference.
In this case >> evolve technik

I contacted EVOLVE today and spoke to a pretty good guy, Peter. (apparently has been into racing Porsches for 30 years).
His DD is a 335i and his wife has a chipped JETTA!
I noticed in the MOTOR magazine he did some work so gave him a call, cause his adverts don't have specific figures for the R.

Ok, so i picked up my Golf R today after getting the Evolve-Technik tune done.
First impressions were very impressive, with a noticable increase in torque and some huge increases in power from about 3500 rpm onwards. Certainly makes the car a lot more responsive.
Will give some more feedback after i've spent some more time driving it.

Looking forward to your further reviews.
Stock power gives a sense of control into and out of corners as the AWD and power keeps the whole thing stuck to the road, but i'm actually going to have be a bit careful (at least in the wet) that i don't put the foot down too early and come unstuck, as the extra power comes on with quite a rush.
I had the car dyno'd afterwards, but didn't get a chance to do the stock dyno, so the results aren't really useful for comparison purposes. The curves themselves are quite good with a flattish torque curve and 300+ N.m available from 3600 RPM onwards. Basically, the claimed increases in power output appear to be accurate and makes this tune up there with the other major players for power.
