Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

I spoke to Evolve a few times when I had my A3 2.0T and they were excellent and very helpful.
i was actually suprised when they told me they were the same price as APR, thought they would be cheaper.
But I guess you do pay for that warranty, etc.
They would be definitely one that I would consider for my S3 but I can't go past my regular independant being a Revo dealer, it just makes sense for me to go to my regular mechanic for the tune as well.MY10 S3 Sportback - 6Sp Manual - Sprint Blue

That is one thing I liked about the EVOLVE and other brands.. is that they are very realistic with their expected gains.
The guy, Peter Fitzgerald said to me his manual R with Intercooler, Intake, Tune and TBE improved by 0.6 secs to the hundred.
That is very realistic. The idea that a tune will take a 6.4 down to flat 5s or less, frankly, is ridiculous which is why I am looking at Evolve or even GIAC.
I just dont know where they have been done in SYDNEY. And secondly, what gains anyone has gotten with the EVOLVE and maybe GIAC on the MY11 R?
Anyone?2010 MY11 GOLF R - 5DR | DSG | RISING BLUE | DYNAUDIO + ACC + BLUETOOTH + 19s + RNS510 |

Corey or other Mods, is that in line with the nature of this forum? No experience or outstanding proven results? I take offence at that and it's not even anything to do with me.

Maybe manol was slagging off the other Brisbane tuner sponsoring this site... Pretty low blow either way (or even if he was aiming at some else again)
I do ask again, though - does anyone know where EVOLVE TECHNIK source their VW remaps (or at least base their remaps from)?Last edited by kaanage; 08-02-2011, 06:09 PM.Resident grumpy old fart

Manol just likes attention. His efforts to ruffle feathers over at vwgolf.net.au are quite funny at times. Such an angry angry man on the internet!

No disrespect to you Guy, you are known through out the VW/Audi car community and I have no doubt out of your 7000 customers many will be happy with the results achieved by your product, as you obviously have alot of support here and on other forums especially with senior members (including some of the mods sporting your products that seem to be happy as Larry).
I think its great you have achieved results you and your customers are happy with, however people are allowed options as different styles of tunes suit different peoples tastes (with generic tunes the customer basically has to accept what they get), if others decide to go down a different path I do not understand why they should be attacked, questioned and discredited (not specifically by your self, but by customers of yours), everyone is entitled to make their own decision and should be able to discuss their decision with out fear of being attacked and more or less being told that there is only one decent option in the market place.
Prior to buying a VW I had never heard of you, I have known the Fitzgerald name since I was young kid and would see him on TV through out the year with the Porsche cup series as well as in a host of other things, like you he has had his successes with the Motor Magazine Tuner Challenges. I don't know the extent of your set up and to install tunes I am sure your backyard would suffice, this is by no means an effort to discredit your efforts but in comparison to others you are not as established as some in the market who serve more than just VW's and Audi's.
I believe this might be what Manol may have been getting at and this is no way an attack at anyone, more so my confusion as to why the the VW community is full of people who are so passionate about a generic tune and willing to carry on about it.

Burgs, Not a problem - I only responded to this thread because I think "Manol" was referring to me - even though the thread was about Peter Fitzgerald (who I have met several times & he's a pretty straight up man).
Read into it what you wish, but don't lose sleep over it. I'm pretty sure we have never had anyone called "manol" visit our workshop either.

Likewise, forum members should not attack companies without a very good reason. Whilst I'm all for customers of a brand or product providing honest feedback, positive or negative, what I and the other moderators are against is non-customers attacking or "digging" (or whatever you like to call it) a company or its products. Whilst I don't know whether Manol is referring to APR or another member/sponsor/business from Brisbane, either way it is not called for and will not be tolerated. These types of posts will simply be deleted in the future as they do nothing but create arguments.
Whilst I have no doubt that in the past there are probably examples of over-zealous APR customers casting a negative shadow on other brands/members/threads, in this thread the opposite is true, as has been the case in several other recent threads - and that's a trend that needs to stop.
This thread is about EVOLVE TECHNIK and unfortunately one member's comments have now caused several posts which have taken away from the focus of Peter Fitzgeralds fine work. So lets end this discussion here. If you would like to discuss it further, then please PM me, or one of the other moderators or admins.
We're very lucky in the Volkswagen community that there are many brands and manufacturers out there providing us with a lot of choice. Moreso, a lot of quality choice. So lets celebrate that, and get back to the topic of EVOLVE TECHNIK.
Cheers

To me its all about the backup I'd receive from a tuner. Its got nothing to do with the few KWs difference between different tunes.
In Brisbane, I'm close to APR and have a long standing relationship with them and have always received excellent service and advice.
If I was in Sydney, and needed a tuner I'd be shopping around as well and if Evolve offered me the service & relationship I wanted, I'd go there without thinking twice .....
IMO there is no real performance difference between the 2, so please no more of this ......Current: 2023 MY23 T-Roc R Lapiz Blue + Beats Audio + Black pack 2018 MY19 Golf R manual Lapiz Blue + DAP) 2018 MY18 Golf 110TSI (150TSI) Trendline manual White2014 Amarok TSI Red (tuned over 200kw + lots of extras) 2013 Up! manual Red 2017 Polo GTI manual Black Previous VWs and some others ...
