  • Any news on Exhausts/Cold Air intakes?

    • Still working hard on the other bits, its the exhaust tips that are a big holdup.

Intakes are much closer, will have samples for color choices this afternoon.

The "more" incorporates some of this:

      • That looks insane.

Is that a stage 2 map or is that a new stage 1 tune?

        Looks like a huge improvement.

Any more technical details? Have they discovered how to get more out of the turbocharger/supercharger combo?

          • A lot of changes, they just spent a couple of weeks on it & unlocked some stuff they learned from their motorsport program (not specifically Turbo / Supercharger). We have it on our Polo, and its been on the dyno (as a stage 2 car), its now making as much if not more than a K04 Polo 9N - but flatter power curve & much bigger torque spread.

              Geeeeezus. That sounds pretty awesome.

On a side note, how much of this stuff, both software and hardware, is compatible with the Audi A1 Sport (with the same engine)?
I would guess that some things, such as the exhaust routing, would be different etc. But would the ECU software, downpipe, intake, intercooler, suspension/sways etc, alcon brake kit, etc be compatible?

From what we have seen, its 100% compatible, but to be 100% sure we would need to test fit firstly. To be hinest, not many people hotting them up yet, but the 132kw version has only just really started to hit customers now

                        • That sounds like a significant power/torque increase over the previous tune.

DSG reliability not a concern at those power levels?

I have seen a couple of Polo GTI's overseas running 235bhp with over 350nm of torque, so I am feeling confident it will take it ok.

I'm thinking that the A1 Sport would be a great "side step" for the type of customer was considering or has owned a Golf R, and doesn't want to give up the quality / features by going back to a Polo, but thinks it's the R is too much of a porker and wants their next car to not use 12L/100km of fuel for no apparent benefit *cough*

I wouldn't have expected anything less from APR

Geez Corey_A1 found your new car already.. Does it come in Rising Blue??

                              • Not rising blue... but the Audi's have many more colours in each model than the Volkswagen's. I mean, look at the Golf GTI and the R - both only come in a single colour (GTI Tornado Red, R Rising Blue). The Polo GTI and Scirocco R comes in only two colours each. Flash Red & Shadow Blue (Polo), Viper Green & Rising Blue (Scirocco). Volkswagen seriously need to get a personality check
