Polo GTI APR ECU Upgrade

Hey guys,

Just wondering when we can expect the ECU upgrade for the new Polo GTI?

I'm guessing it will be next year sometime.

Just curious is all. I will most likely be doing the upgrade when it's released.

Will anyone else be doing the upgrade?

I will be interested to see what more they can get out of the motor.

It will probably be released next year some time.
The dealers are only just getting them in and they don't get released in the US so tuning for them is going to take a little while.

I thought the tune would be similar to the 118TSI. 155kw/317Nm

It will likely produce similar results however it is a different car and could have a different ECU so it will still take some time to develop.

We should have our development POLO GTI before Christmas. Good news is, it is a more user friendly ECU in this one

Compared to the MKV GT and the 118TSI The intercooler is way different, as is the airbox & exhaust. So its a bit hard to guess the output right at the moment.

We have planned : Software / Exhaust / Intercooler / Airbox / bigger turbo. Looking forward to it.

I think you might have a substantially bigger market this time around compared to the last polo GTI.

Can you adjust the cut out point of the supercharger? I.e. can you bolt a massive turbo on that spools up at 5000rpm and fill the gap in with the SC? That would be a giggle

We sure can - our current APR upgrade already shifts that around, but being a 1.4, we don't need TOO big a turbo, but certainly we have a size in mind.

I don't think there is any need, it is bleeding off boost standard, so probably not necessary at this stage. I think all you would achieve is quicker supercharger spool up, won't increase HP.

I heard, they're getting their polo gti by this month, but like the rest of the world, i think there's a delay with production. fingers crossed!

Our dealer managed to secure us a white 3 door & I'm told its now sitting at the dealership.

Hopefully we will have it in the next 2 weeks Already have the development turbocharger for it sitting on my desk too.

What's the situation re warranty on chipping? Cost?
