Chase out the wiring that burnt today and repair it and all that it took out.

Fix the gear box with the Wavetrac, clean, reline or replace the 6 puck disc.

Figure out why my brake pedal feels the way it does and then fix it.

Add another breather to the crank case. There's oil escaping from around the dizzy at the moment.

That's about it.

Hope to get to all the Victorian Super Sprint events, at least one hill climb and maybe a few more Group 5 sprints.

Here's the video of session 1 with log data over the top.

The data's a little out of sync, the data's lagging the video a little.

I think I've worked out how to sync the two streams better for the next one.

I've got to mash up the other sessions yet.

Session 2 has some great scenes due to a small dashboard melt down and absorbent on the track.

I think I can sync it all better this time too.

Most of the work in in Excel re-formatting the data to drive the guages.

Session 2.

Major oil spill on track was treated with cement dust making visibility and traction problems.

Hopefully sync is better on this, I haven't looked closely at it yet.

I set the stats up to be a little transparent too. Which do you think looks better?

Nice, session 2 looks clearer and brighter. Prefer non-translucent, easier to read data. (can you remove blue banner?)

Every thing in the speedo layout is changeable.

I could bump the banner to the top or get rid of it completly.

Is the track map useful? It's a PITA to hash the data to draw it with my woeful excel skills.

Might even do round 3 with the speed overlay only just to see how it looks.

I think I caught the orange car, I'll have to look at the rest of the footage for that session. Youtube limits the length to 10minutes.

There were some really fast minis in my session, oddly the newest BMW ones were quite slow.

Only one question, why were you short shifting into 5th? (And i do mean that as a question, not a criticism..)

Dunno, seemed like a good idea at the time?

I was just trying out stuff, couple of times I shifted into 5th a bit soon.

Up the back straight is a fair climb, I could do with more HP If I couldn't get it to accelerate in 4th any more I'd grab 5th to give the motor a break.

Or maybe I was trying to find third gear, it is a MK1 after all.

Don't work on the assumption that I know what I'm doing out there either !

The only way to get better is to try different things...

I thought it may have been because the engine wasn't making a lot of HP up high (being a 2L) and in 4th it wouldn't pull above those RPM, making it necessary to grab 5th a bit early.

You say you probably don't know what you're doing, but you're still (at least) 1 step ahead of me.. You're actually competing with your car, and big ups for it!
