        • I'll see how I go. Gotta pull the the battery tray out, the airbox tray.. Piss off all the little clips n stuff. Get the bay blasted. Stitch weld the strut towers and chassis rails. Seam weld around the door openings.. The get the bay painted. Put the engine in. Get an exhaust put on it. Then it's off to Tim's place for all new brake lines and wiring......

We'll see. I'll get some pics of my new gear this arvo. Nice stuff. very nice.

          • Here's how it started off yesterday..

            Meanwhile..

            Here's my new Mk2 booster and 22mm M/C.

            Diesel engine mount..

I mocked it up on the block to mark it out, so I can cut it off nice and neat.

Then I went about hacking bits off in the engine bay..

I've removed all the little steel tabs that hold the brake lines etc, because we'll be doing them differently. Much neater and cleaner.

Block is on the stand, ready to rock and/or roll..

I even finished cleaning up the sump, masked it up and primer fillered it. Should block up ok.

Motivation plus!! Didn't get pics of my alternator kit.. Maybe tomorrow if i remember? haha.

Yeah fuel pump. Which, you know.. I obviously don't need. Haha. The smoothing is not going super far. Just some stitch welding around the towers and chassis rails, some seam sealer and tidying up. This isn't a show car.

And that engine bay has fibreglass covers, Jace.. That's just cheating. haha.

                            • Thanks anyways man. I'll stick with the original and fit the Mk1 cap without the level switch.

                              • no probs mate. I just prefer it cause I reckon it's neated than the big ugly triangly shape. I was reminded of this when I plucked a 22MC from the wreckers the other day. Didn't think to grab a new resoviour whilst I was there.
