Thought I would just pull some insulation tape back to see how far down I should join the new harness on. As you can see, a whole world of harness horror has ensued.
This may have something to do with the strange running issues!!!!

I'm trying to post all the ups and downs i go thru so other people of similar inexperience who wanna do something like this can look at this thread and know that others have been thru it.
You said this 4 years ago, I've been working my way through your thread and was going to thank you for documenting it all.
You haven't hidden much from what I can tell, and understanding the costs of some components (like the qpeng gear) definitely helps those of us pondering this sort of thing.
I'm not at the end of the thread yet, but am hoping there's a cost breakdown / summary of what worked / didn't work written up somewhere over the next 4 years worth of posts.

Haha, jesus, that's going to be as hard to do as the build itself. Thanks for the kudos though. Taking the pics and doing this build thread has been quite a big part of the whole process, but as long as someone gets something out of it, it's worthwhile i guess.
There's been countless dyno tuning sessions, engine management tweaks, general maintenance, parts that didn't fit due to bogus advice, but 95% of it is already all on here. I could have bought an S3 with the money i've spent - but then i wouldn't have a mk2 20vt would I??!!
I've always stuck to my original vision and not worried what others think, but all the positive feedback is still great... and contsructive criticism is also always considered. Then discarded
It's funny how so many people say oh, you'll never be finished on a project like that. There's always something you wanna do next blah blah... but I really haven't experienced any of that. I've just stayed focused on my initial goal.
