WE lived in Chalyer street in Rozelle the worst street in the world with both cars parking on either side their was just enough room to squeeze one car driving down the middle...I dont miss that street haha I have rented a double garage inner west and we live in Lillyfield now so the garage is 5 min away Bonus!

          Thnaks mate
I was pretty anxious about it coming out right because as you said it all comes down to the finished product..
the day after finishing it and getting to go over the job i felt my whole body relax haha i was pretty tense about not wanting to see 150h
          go to waste...BUt it didnt

Thanx Alex yea the fans were a bit of fun to put together they worked sooooo well
I just picked the windiest of days to paint so as not to bother the neighbors
The finish has a good gloss to it 3 coats of clear did the trick

This is looking awesome! Ed mentioned you'd gone mad with the welding haha!

I bought this car's brother from Ed a few months back, so hoping to learn a few tricks from you!

                    Keep it up

                      Thanks Mate!
Thats Great that you got the other GTI!
ITs another great color as its not that common here in a GTi,
I wonder if its the only one??
Thats definitely got a bit of work needing done like this one but it will be sooo rewarding to finish it of proper
All the Best with it and i hope you find this thread helpful.

Funny you should ask... its going to have to go to make way for the Caddy, but this was a project i took on heaps earlier than the
caddy and so i wanted to finish it it.... having said that i wish i had have cut my losses and gone for a quick flick still needing alot of work but still registrable, then i could have just gotten on with things... Its funny how if you start to do something well it can simply take over and you just keep aiming for a mint finish!! Thats whats happened here with this car oh well whoever gets this is going to
be veerrrrrry happy and be driving around a piece of history with a stunning glowing paint job, A GTI is a Gti its interesting seeing
how a torana can fetch 100+k now and things like Ghias for over 20, split screens 30-40, Get your piece of history now whilst their
                        still within arms reach

Yer it's funny how things snowball but worth doing worth doing correctly.
Any plans for a tuned motor??

Yea ha ha a cheap mentality is fun for a 500 bomb that you thrash in a paddock but I just keep thinking the old vws cars done well
Are becoming more collectable every year so it's even more worth doing for the future enjoyment and investment of people as it changes hands.
Well I've just finished a full rebuild on the bottom end
And I found a fully rebuilt head with techronics cam and an adjustable cam gear
I'm keeping the original head of to one side with original Kjet inlet manifold as well.
Can't wait to start it today!!
                            Pics coming

So it should have enough poke
