Tommy hows it all going, ? yer the peng is good to wire up not hard at all are you doing your own loom?
Nah mate, when it comes to wiring i'd have to pass. I sent the loom and throttlebody for them to modify. The driveshafts are bolted up, Turbo inlet pipe is on and re-routed the water lines that go to the heater. Also, I have to modify the one shifter linkage as it swings against the compressor housing. Will post pics up later.
The linkage that i had to modify to clear the compressor housing
To this
Now i've fitted the 5 speed linkages and it's still a 4 speed. Is there anything else i need to get/modify to shorten the side to side movement to engage 5th?

I hope you made the centre to centre distance of the shaft to the linkage hole about 40 mm longer, that will give you a shorter shift , Check it doesnt bind when moving thru all gears.

It's doesn't bind mate, it's the same as it was with the old 4 speed. The distance between the holes are exactly the same as the stock one so no short shift. Damn!
Time for a update, sorry guys wasnt slacking just away with work. Got the Qpeng management with harness and downpipe. Mine's setup with High/Low boost switch and all relay's for the fuel pump.
The downpipe..
I also started mocking-up the intercooler piping. Just need to use 1 part of the original piping which got the little 6mm nozzle for the boost controller.
The intercooler will be mounted low to give sufficient space for the throttle body piping. I wanted to fit the dumpvalve before the throttle body but it's really tight in there so it's gonna go before the intercooler.
Also had to remove the original radiator fan shroud and fit a slim fan to clear a bit of space. The other issue i had was the fuel tank cause i need a gravity feed tank like the GTI one. I bought a 2nd hand Diesel one but decided not to use it as was just full of sludge and crap that didn't want to flush out so now i'm awaiting a new one from the US. All and all it's getting there tho.
Nice work, keep at it! you'll get there eventually!
how did you find the qpeng loom? easy to fit etc etc?
Jarred, I haven't wired it up yet but looks simple enough to fit up. All the new wiring to the loom is nicely tagged to show where they wire up to. I did have Ben add in relays for the fuel pump to make it easier. For tuning I want to get a 3.5mm jack extension cable to have the OBD2 interface inside the car, I also want to fix the ECU inside the car rather than in the bulkhead.
I'm going to use Innovate LM2 wideband data logger for tuning so the downpipe also need another o2sensor bung TIG welded on to it but that's another issue.
my data logger is ****e it has not worked with any of my laptops and innovate are rubbish at support, however, I found just a simple guage easy to use and tune (with two people) really the logger makes more sense. Wish peng has wide band in it

Apparently they did have a external datalogger with it previously but dont stock'em anymore. Wish i could get time off to finish the car, basically got everything now to finish it!
Hey Leigh, just been reading through here. You've got more done in a few months than i did in three years so well done man!
I'll be interested to see how it runs and how the mapping goes as thats the stage i'm at now and it's becoming an issue. Plug n play is the name but plug, muck about with software, tune, re-tune & then play is more like the reality!
Keep goin man!

I have an Innovate Data logger. The LM1 had a problem and failed due to a bung component overheating after a few minutes. They repaired it and returned it to me even out of warranty.
I admit it wasn't the easiest of things to get my head round but with the Aux Box connected it gave great logging capability.
