Hey Ben, I worked with channel 10 doing the telecasts when the ARC used to be in Tassie until last year. Most of the camera fellas were freelance workers. So when channel 7 got the v8s they simply carried on their work but for channel 7. The amount of workers, equipment and money involved with doing each round of the ARC was staggering!!!
I agree that Rusty and Billy Woods did a great job on commentry. Who would have known that Canberra was also a round of the SE Asian rally championship???

We thought we had better give you an update of our preparations for Rally Queensland. The S2000 gearbox is currently in South Africa getting a big band aid put on it! We have also discovered a problem with the steering rack, but VW Racing in South Africa have it all pretty much under control.

We expect the gearbox and a new rack to be airfreighted to Brisbane early next week, which hopefully should then be cleared through Customs by Thursday. That will then give us next weekend to re-fit all the parts and complete all the other usual Rally preparation items. One thing that could be a minor drama for us is the re-programming of the Gearbox electronics, something we have no experience in. Neil Bates (Toyota) and Britek (Ford) have been fantastic trying to help us resolve the broken geabox issue, so we may end up having to make a few last minute calls to them to get the project finished in time.

The entry list now shows four S2000's, with Evans and Bates in the Toyotas and Darren Windus returning with one of the Fiestas, so we absolutely must be there to be part of the High Revving sound fest! If you checked out the earlier youtube link you'll know what I mean.

All going well, it's going to be a weekend not to miss, and we'd love to have the opportunity to meet as many of you guys as possible. (Make sure someone gets us some of your stickers for the car too!) We will keep you up to date with as many posts as possible on our progress getting the car ready. It's great having your support behind the Team!
