Pop by for a chat and looksee if you have time (though you've done track days before). It'll be White's last track day (Peter Jones's 'lightly' moded MkI Golf as opposed to the full bore Kamei replica he's preparing for next year).

All went well, I'll pop the videos up in White's Wreck to Race thread to close out the story.

Here's some pics from the day, apologies for the grainy photos, we had an incorrect setting in the camera.

I ran an equal best time of 1:38 which I'm happy with for what was a pretty cruisy event and just an opportunity to give White a final outing before retiring from racing.

Weather was a bit variable and I only got 2 really dry runs but even the wet runs were fun.

It was great that White responded to the TLC to his fuel system by equalling its PB . Well done Peter with both the maintenance and the slick driving

I managed to run the PoD out of front brake pads (driving around with less than 1mm on the drivers side today ) before the end of the day and my lousy traffic management, session interruptions and the variable weather kept me slower than my first visit to Sandown.

The latest set of mods felt really good but my best time for the day was set in the first session where I spent most of it scrubbing in tyres and bedding in brakes. I thought I was on a really good lap in my last session but the session was red flagged as I got off the back straight and then I came in and saw what was left of my brakes pads.....

I had an absolute ball chasing a 300 whp, WRX STi in a wet/dry session - it was a shame that they put White and the PoD in different groups

Big thanks to Peter and Jody for their continuing help and encouragement

We need more VWs out there, people!

I'm thinking Winton on either the 2nd of December (Alfa club) or 16th (Tampered M/S) but I'm not sure of which (if either)

That Micra was quick, DC5 engine IIRC? My mate's S2000 was only just keeping up to him.

Cheers Clint. There'll be another up soon for an E30 M3 I checked out at Sandown over the weekend.

                              • So is anyone else likely to do the Tampered M/S day on the 16th of December at Winton?

The good thing about this one is that half the day will be on the (original) short track
