Now the bureau is saying showers on Sunday morning - hopefully I'll get at least one dry session before I have to leave.

White (Peter Jones' current track MkI Golf) continued to give trouble at Sandown today as Peter tried changing several fuel and ignition components with only minor improvements

The PoD ran quite well today with the Motorsport map almost certainly minimising the amount of time that I lost to only half a second in today's damp conditions vs the time I set last round in perfect conditions.

Yeah not a great day out for me today.

Each time I went out the car cut out one lap in . I got towed in twice.

I'm leaning towards ignition failure now rather than fueling. The data logs show odd features in the RPM graphs that shouldn't be there. They're consistent with an intermittent signal from the crank angle sensor.

I've ordered new coil, crank angle sensor and crank angle sensor as well as the in tank fuel filer which we discovered was very blocked today.

Only time will tell if I've fixed it. Might have to book some time on the dyno to make sure it's fixed.

                Only a 911, though

Also went up to Winton on Monday, went slower and killed another Advan (plus my trolley jack died )

Time to throw out the Advans and get some Toyo R888's or Bridgestone RE55.

Nah, it's my fault for pushing too hard on old (6 years) stock tyres. The guy at Traction Tyres looked at the latest killed A048 and said the belt was separating from the tyre due to heat + age (which is probably what killed the 1st one while the 2nd was killed by a heavy kerb strike) and they did warn me about this when I originally bought them (I told them I wouldn't be able to push them that hard with my car )

I did think about this but there is a sale on for excess NEW stock A048's so I'm getting a fresh set in 205/50R15

For anyone interested, here are the sale details for the A048's - http://www.tractiontyres.com.au/pdfs...a4flyer_v2.pdf

Also, Trackside Tyres are clearing out current stock RE55's at good prices to make way for the RE11 replacements.

Or Andrew and Shane for the A048's - they're even cheaper.

Old semi-slicks of any brand won't hold together under heavy (ab)use.
