Castrol EDGE 5W-30 LL 507 spec is on sale at supercheap till 23rd November. 5 litres just $65.49! Same oil at Repco is $101!
I don't think it will get any cheaper.
I have traditionally used Castrol oils but when I bought our Tiguan I decided to try Penrite & it was available in 507 specs.
I have found over time that Penrite is harder to get on special & next oil change I will return to Castrol LL.
I will then have 3 cars [ including my daughter in laws Mk6] & it's easier to run all the cars using the same oil.
I will probably use Penrite for the Tiguan's various gearboxes in synthetic form.
Understand how it works, troubleshoot logically BEFORE replacing parts.

Might be different for whatever season in South Aust vs NSW, but I find the opposite here. I keep an eye out for oils being on sale and then ill buy a few bottles to last me a service on both cars - and more often than not its either Penrite or Nulon that are on sale here.
