Not sure about the Mark II Octavia, but the new Mark III has ET51, for the RS at least.
The inner lip on the rear guards has been rolled quite tightly from the factory, again for the RS at least, allowing for aggressive fitment.
If i'm on the market for a new wheels, I would personally choose 8.5 width with ET32-35 at the back and ET40-42 for the front. BBS LM with gold face or silver face with red cap will be my first choice
What wheels do you have in mind?

2014 Race Blue Octavia RS 162TSI Combi
As far as I can tell Mk2 & Mk3 are similar offsets but if you are going to the wider widths then it's likely the datum points could be slightly different so you might have to do some test fitting & measuring
carandimage The place where Off-Topic is On-Topic I used to think I was anal-retentive until I started getting involved in car forums

IMO 18 inch with tight fitment plus lowering will look incredible for this car.
Sam, Sochi is better...
I've got Eibachs waiting to be fitted so I'll drop it down 30mm at least, I'm thinking 18" x 8.5 Sochis in Gunmetal if I can get it, matt black if not... That will look sick.

Do let us know how the car ride with the Eibach on.

Will do, I currently have them on the Mk II coupled with Koni FDS, they're pretty firm, so I'm not gonna fit em to the Mk III, just the springs, going for comfort rather than handling this time round!
GTR27, love those wheels on the candy, they look tough as!
I love the concave look. Even with all my spending on trinkets, if I bought those straight away, the wife may cut my testicles off.... But $799 USD seems pretty good for a decent set of rims. Just finding out if 8.5" in 35 or 45 et will be OK on the front of the Octavia. I know the rears will be fine.

Yeah the fronts I was thinking et45, and the rears et35. I know on the rs, you could damn near get away with 9.5" rears, based on the wheel space thread on briskoda. But I think that large a increase in width would be illegal
