Thanks mate! @Fizz This is how it sits with Bilstein B14 coilovers under the guards.Originally posted by ferret vrs View PostYeah I caught up with T Bone the other day and his is dropped - looks really good
Is a work car though so needs to be practical, has more clearance than I expected and haven't scrapped it on any drives yet
Will get the front lip spoiler first and see if there is room to maybe drop 35mm

How do you rate the ride comfort with the change?Originally posted by T_BONES View PostThanks mate! @Fizz This is how it sits with Bilstein B14 coilovers under the guards.

Is it a big difference all round or just big bumps?
I will assume handling has increased ten fold.
Are they the adjustable height versions?

The ride comfort is quite good considering the reduction in ride height. I mean it's not a comfy as the stock set up but it's definitely fine for daily driving.Originally posted by LunchboxVRS View PostHow do you rate the ride comfort with the change?

I've hit bump stops a few times but that's only been at highway speeds on rural roads not being able to dodge potholes or ruts.
Yep it digs in through corners now and tends to have less understeer and more oversteer tendencies. I haven't tracked it yet to find out how it really goes though.
They are height adjustable to a maximum drop of 50mm. I think my fronts had about a 45mm drop and the rear around 40mm.
The only 2 negatives I have about them are at low speeds when going lock to lock / moving slow while turning you can get clunking from the springs as they move in the spring seats from time to time. The other is the B14's aren't dampening adjustable and seem just a bit bouncy for my liking, i prefer a bit of a firmer setup. In hindsight i should've spent that bit extra and gone with the B16's as they are dampening adjustable.
Have you done any suspension work to yours?

That looks awesome! did you fit spacers or anything for the wheels? or are they still tucking? i was thinking of getting either F10mm and R15mm or F15mm and R20mm but it all depends what's the gap like after fitting the springs and once they settles.Originally posted by T_BONES View PostThanks mate! @Fizz This is how it sits with Bilstein B14 coilovers under the guards.

No not yet. I'm a little reluctant as I changed springs and shocks in my polo (h&r springs and koni shocks) handled like a go kart but it just seemed to get more annoying the longer I had it. Short trips fine but anything over 100k. And it was painful. Not the harshe ride iv had but annoying over time.Originally posted by T_BONES View PostThe ride comfort is quite good considering the reduction in ride height. I won't to lower it but that's just for looks and I'm not going to sacrifice ride for a little better looks.
I don't like the body roll either so might do some sway bars later.

Thanks mate! No spacers still tucking, though i might get some at some stage. Yeah either way that would set it off nicely, give it that low and wide look 👌. What sort of drop in mm will the lowered springs give you?Originally posted by Fizz View PostThat looks awesome! did you fit spacers or anything for the wheels? or are they still tucking? i was thinking of getting either F10mm and R15mm or F15mm and R20mm but it all depends what's the gap like after fitting the springs and once they settles.
Lol thanks mate!Originally posted by Lams View Postthat looks great!
Wife said dream on.
I've only had mine in for about 15,000kms and they haven't changed much yet. As mentioned earlier they are quite bouncy over certain bumps, if it's only me in the car it doesn't phase me but I wouldn't want to sit in the back if driving on a bumpy road lol.Originally posted by LunchboxVRS View PostNo not yet. If able to i would go for a drive in one on coilovers and see of you like it before you purchase. Yeah the sway bar thought has crossed my mind as well. I wonder what sort of improvement it would have with general driving and if it's worth it

I found KW coilover to be really good. I installed one a while ago on my previous daily driven C class (Carlsson brand, KW built) and the ride is firm but very stable, no bounciness what so ever, this is the V1 version. Unfortunately with most/all coilover you will have to bear with the spring chatter. It's a worthy improvement if you have the financial means.Originally posted by ilidchen View PostHo T-Bone where did you get your bilsteins from and how much was it , I am having trouble finding coil overs the only ones I can find locally at the KWs
