My point was more that you have to take it back to the same guy and pay him $99 per year to maintain a manufacturers warranty. You can get your car serviced anywhere and your warranty on your car is not void.

I don't have to take it to him, I can take it to any authorised opticoat authorised dealer. I will choose this fellow because I am very impressed with him. Others I think charge anywhere from $45 for just an inspection but he offers for a complete service for $99 which I think is a bargain after seeing the job he has done.

No snake oil with Opticoat, just cold hard evidence and plenty of satisfied customers on this forum.. and around the world.

People just need to do their homework on who does it, and how much they get charged.

Looks great,mine is booked for saturday.Got 2 quotes.Went with the dearer guy.
He was older,talked heaps(new what he was talking about)and sounded very genuiune.

All the commercial air lines in Australia only use it as well as a recent deal between Australian Porsche and Audi dealerships. This stuff survives stratospheric conditions so I think it's going to last on your car

This is a public forum of which I am a member, I am entitled to an opinion and to express it. When "opticoat" comes as a factory backed feature on a S Class Merc. I ll re-access its merits.

If someone offers me a lifetime warranty I'd expect it to last a lifetime and not have to pay someone each year to inspect the product with a lifetime warranty and then pay them more money to fix up the product that supposedly has a lifetime warranty. That isn't a lifetime warranty IMO. It's a 12 mth warranty with ongoing repairs and maintenance after that to extend the life of the product a further 12 mths.

The annual service is optional actually. The product offers a 5 year warranty with no special requirements. The extended lifetime warranty is offered though if the owner allows the Opti-Coat guys to maintain it annually.

No snake oil. The coating isn't going to magically fall off the paint after 5 years, just like the other guy's S Class Mercedes isn't going to stop suddenly when the 3 year warranty is up.

Yep, as above there's a 5 year warranty with no inspections required. But if you want it to last longer than that, you need annual inspections - the guy that did mine charges $45 which is fine when you consider that his time spent doing a clean that's better than ill ever do is probably worth it anyway

Well mine is getting done today. Just dropped it off. Getting Paintwork plus outer and inner wheels. Not doing the glass or interior.

I was offered and thought about doing the steering wheel with opti guard for $60, but being a control surface I was reluctant to do it as I don't know what it would feel like and had not researched it.

Any opinions here?

Got my whole interior done with opti guard inc steering wheel and have no issues with it been slippery. Feels like a normal leather wheel to me.
