New Octavia ....when? How Much?

Heh, call me a nerd, but I've been tracking the boat all afternoon. It's just disappeared off the tracker after most recently showing it turning around in port in Melbourne, dare I say it's now docked. Now the waiting really begins, knowing it's tantilisingly close!

I've never been more excited to get a new car compared to this one... a 6 month wait tends to do that to you!

No not a nerd, watched the ship dock (~5:30pm 13-7-15) on the port of Melbourne webcam. Checked inventory at least 80 Octavia's of which 15 are hatch/sedan (19%), and 65 wagons(81%). What is interesting is the break down by type
For Sedans
Ambition 103TSI (33.3%), ambition+/elegance 103TSI (20%), Elegance/VRS 2L TDI(0%), Elegance 132 TSI (0%), VRS 162TSI (46.7%)

For wagons
Ambition 103TSI (6.15%), ambition+/elegance 103TSI (26.15%), Elegance/VRS 2L TDI(3%), Elegance 132 TSI (3%), VRS 162TSI (61.54%)

mine is one of the two elegance 132 TSI loaded originally. Unsure of how many of the above were off loaded in NZ and how many are for Port Kembla/Brisbane.

Wow... where'd you find all that information? I was using a pretty basic tracker for the vessel itself, never really thought to look at the inventory.

Hi I went to the shipping line website Wallenius & Wilhelmsen logistics tracking page. Entered my vin, using that it identified the ship and gave me the "Bill of Lading number" using this you can check all the other vin # on that batch. I checked for other batches sequentially and found another skoda batch and at least 3 VW batches loaded on the ship. Using excel I Decoded the VIN s and sorted by type Etc. Stat's are part of my job. note the w&w website also gives a detailed itinerary for the ship expected arrival and departures dates for every stop planned.

Sounds about right. Nothing scientific, but based on perception - I'd say that the clear majority of Octavias I see on the roads are RS Wagons...

I'd agree. In Melbourne, seems like 2 out of every 3 Octavia's I see are RS wagons

The Carmen is expected to dock at 8:30pm today 14-7-15 - Appleton dock b, same dock the Tirranna was berthed at. The port of Melbourne website has an arrivals section which gets updated hourly. Also has webcams you can control to look at the ship's.

WWL to search by ship name, note will give list of planned routes including future ones, current one (carrying your car may be second or third on the list.)

Definitely more wagons and more vrs (Mk2 & 3), have also seen 4 Superbs all wagons

Mine was on the same ship and it's still sitting in Melbourne hasnt event been booked to be transported to Adelaide, at least compliance has been complianced.

i spoke to the dealer and their stock controller was able to find out that it had been complianced.

I went into the dealer I bought our orginal Octavia from years back so try and figure out when to place an order so it gets built first thing next year. Talk about your typical bad salesperson, he was not listening at all to what I was saying and kept trying to get me to order one today that will arrive around Dec. Eventually after I explained for the umpteenth time that I want it built early in the year he said to come back in Sept/Oct. Which is the first thing I said I suspect I have to do. They really don't want to do anything for you unless they can put the order in the system now. Which is fine and why I asked him that specifically, but I know I want nothing to do with that person if I return again.
