New Octavia ....when? How Much?

A question to anyone who has received their MK111 Octavia. How long from build to delivery did your car take. The reason for the question is after being told my car was to be built in early November it has now been pushed out to January. Skoda customer lack of service nor the dealer (who has spoken to his sales rep I was there) can or will confirm what prod week of Jan. They just said oh its January its a good result as it was going to be APRIL build!!!! Anyway I suppose I have 2 questions, one re time of arrival after build and another as to weather I should be able to lock down a build date. Surely I'm not asking too much January isn't even 3 weeks away, Im sure the production schedule is already set.

The dealer said if it was built early Jan I would see the car by the end of March does this sound right. (This is really a 3rd question)

My option is to cancel the order and buy a Golf R thats in stock in exactly my spec. Great car but not really what I wanted.
***sed off to be honest it is nearly 7 months from order and a car still hasn't gone into build.

I would love to buy a non VAG product to rub their noses in it but nothing has the options I want at a reasonable price point.

As GTR mused I did think 328i Motorsport manual wagon but can't justify around $80k. 35k more than the RS.

Rant over, what do you guys think??

When did you order? My timeline is slightly longer than normal for a non-rs, but would be slightly quicker than normal for an rs. If it was built in Jan, then march would be about right for delivery.

Thanks everyone else for the thoughts. By God was it a testing period..... But my sheer stubbornness meant we have easily for the best car for the money. I seriously can't believe how good it is for the price. Considering you could get a manual ambition wagon for 24-5k (with travel pack), nothing comes close to value.

Picked the car up today. The unicorn lives! Will post up photos when we get home. Gcs have been fantastic, and went to a huge effort to make sure we were happy. I can't get over how much car this is for the money.

Also, whoever was worried about rvc....I didn't order one, but the car came with one! Score!

Nice to see your car GTR. I'm happy to report the email to my dealer about RVC has led to him agreeing to cover a dealer fitting of it when my car arrives. So another Skoda storyline coming towards a happy ending, I hope... It's delayed a bit, but hey at least it's built and on the boat.

Car was ordered in May, But Skoda Aus have admitted that the order didn't proceed past the dealer entry into the system.
They are still coming back to me why. The updated order was placed in October for a car that was to be built in end of Nov (a car already coded to the dealer) My car was ordered with 19's but I have been told that they are not building cars with 19's until further notice. The order was changed to 18's to get it built.

This whole process has been extremely frustrating.

Inspection went well, everything perfect! (thank god!)



I've been busy this morning, but mostly doing LED's (my fingers hurt!)

But have done black mirror caps, and door sill trims/handle trims. Have added the extra bin so driver and passenger both have one.

LED's replaced were

Parkers in headlights - stock looked very yellow (normal bulb with blue tint though!)
Interior map lights front, and rear passenger lights
Boot lights
Number plate light


The LED indicators I bought arent the right ones! but now i've disassembled the rear lights and found out whats what, I will order them

If anyones interested, rear reversing light is P21W
Indicators are PY21W
Rear fog? looks like H21

Front fogs are H8 (took those out too - man are they a royal PIA to remove!)

EDIT: RS pedals too, but having difficulty with the accelerator, so asked the question on briskoda! If anyone here knows how to fit it, glad to have some help!

I found it quite easy changing the interior lights, had a thin metal spatula and used it to pry em all out, though you have to be careful with the tabs and such.

RS fogs are H16 just an FYI for everyone else. I plan on changing them to something with whiter light, looks off when the headlights are on.

EDIT: Regarding pedal install, have you looked for videos for the golf? I'd imagine its the same process??

Yeah interior lights are easy. Those trim tools from ledperf are awesome!

Congratulations sir. A new car for Christmas, how good is that. Looks to be a nicely specified vehicle. Might I enquire what the final OTR price came out at?

Only have dashcam, foot well lights, mud flaps and sound deadening to do and the car is spot on. A few more LEDs left so every light is led.

GTR 27 you have persevered through testing times and events to ensure your wife had her Skoda Ambition Plus for Christmas. What a husband and man!

Haha, thanks. The last three weeks, I made a lot of phone calls and emails and harassed everyone involved to make sure it was sorted. I found out that my email to the MD did work...... The regional manager worked with gcs to get the car over the line (customer service dropped the ball). In the end, I didn't care who I annoyed, I just wanted the car, which we got. I'm so glad I waited, it's so much car for the money. All I can say to everyone is it is worth the wait.
