The bright sun today in Melbourne makes outdoor photos a bit difficult (my Nexus 5 has poor dynamic range). I'll take more photos over Christmas, can't wait to take it out for a long drive in the country side

I fully support your intended actions in holding the dealer to account. As a regular reader of this forum it is disappointing how bad the service is from many Skoda dealers. Just because they can blackmail us due to supply constraints and lack of comparable vehicles doesn't mean they should. As you say, compile everything in an email confirming what has been agreed to but allow the dealer to save face with an outcome acceptable to you. I don't think you should be forced to accept the vehicle on the lot if it isn't the configuration you want or at the price you have previously negotiated. While a RVC isn't a deal breaker, it is an accessory that is now standard on most cars including the Octavias, and if you regularly read car reviews you will notice that most reviewers consider cars should now have them. I certainly consider that a RVC will make a vehicle easier to sell in the future.

Speaking of which, I have not yet seen another Octavia of any kind in Brisbane with the black pack. I've seen Skoda's monthly sales for the last year or so and been wondering whether they just aren't popular in Brisbane, but more popular in other cities?

Makes me smile when I see your very sweet Race Blue RS Octavia......... and I love it. Best colors in my book, Race Blue and Candy White.

I know that the now Late but not great Bryan Byrt Skoda dealership at Mt Gravatt had two TDI DSG RS with Black 19 Packs. One liftback and one Combi wagon. Josh sold the liftback but the White RS wagon was towed from their yard when VWA withdrew their franchise.

I made an offer on that RS White wagon on the Wednesday and it was towed from their yard Friday. Could have been very sad for us, if they had taken my offer and we would have had to go through lots a drama to resolve delivery or fail to deliver more likely!

I wonder if those muted '2000' additional Skodas will ever make it here......... dream on?

I have to say I actually prefer the Mk III sedan over the Mk III wagon. The only thing I don't like about the MK III is that the gap between the tyre and wheel arch looks much much bigger on the Mk III and is screaming out for some coilovers or something IMO.

Other than that, it's a damn nice looking car!!!

Picked the car up today. The unicorn lives! Will post up photos when we get home. Gcs have been fantastic, and went to a huge effort to make sure we were happy. I can't get over how much car this is for the money.

Also, whoever was worried about rvc....I didn't order one, but the car came with one! Score!

I have only seen one RS with black pack in Melbourne. Most of the ones I have seen were without the black pack

I agree, mkii was better as a wagon, but I think mkiii is nicer in the sedan form, hence I ordered one. I think the wheel arch gap is a bit big, but it is not as obvious in the metal

Here are some quick snaps..... Will edit out plates tomorrow.

Xenon's and sunroof are a highlight.

The ride quality seems great considering it's on 18s, lots more supple than the jazz, rides bumps much better.

Well post up more details/thoughts tomorrow, but it had exceeded my expectations. Have already done 303 interior protectant on it, and the chrome key ends. The screw's in those are made of a substance softer than butter.... They are almost a liquid they strip out so easy. But still, I got them on OK and they look great. Really improve the look and feel of the key a lot.

Tomorrow's mission - start fitting accessories! I'll do a full detail and paint protection Sunday when I have more time! Gcs seems to have done a decent job from what I can see, hardly any swirls in the paint (I took a led light and had a decent inspection). So good in fact, for this first seal, I won't bother correcting it.


Edit: the alaris rims look a lot better in the flesh than they do in pictures for some reason. Even in the one I posted, they look kind of 'thin' but don't look like that at all in real life.
