Has anyone in Adelaide purchased extended warranty. If so, would you be kind enough to PM me the price you managed to negotiate please?
I was surprised when I called in to the dealer today to inquire about cancelling our order as I am trying to talk the wife into waiting for the new Passat due in October 2015; watch the launch reviews on Youtube they are very positive about the step up in quality for the new car. The dealer offered to give us free extended warranty where as our purchase contract had it at $1690. Obviously there is room to move, but then given we have ordered all extras I think the dealer had quite a bit of margin to work on. For example, the Turini wheels are $1600, obviously a lot of mark up there!
I know this information won't necessarily help you in Adelaide, but it does show how much room to move there is when a fully optioned vehicle order is at stake. It is just the delay in receiving the car which is proving very difficult to bare.
We have agreed with the dealer to take a VRS for an extended test drive before deciding whether or not to cancel the order.

Dropped in and I had chat to Josh @BBSkoda and found that the Octavia RS TDI DSG Wagon that is floor stock with Kessy,Canton, Black Pack 19s but no Adaptive Cruise or rear view camera. I made an offer but was declined. We really do not want Black Pack but yes to Adaptive Cruise and rear camera. I hope Bryan Burt survive all this. Maybe we may look at alternatives, my wife likes the Tiguan and the Golf Wagon.
I just went over to Bryan Burt Skoda Mt Gravatt. All the Skodas are gone! All that remains are Isuzu and BB used cars. I saw the news late last week where Bryan Burt Capalaba had cars towed with customers watching their cars towed in front of them. So what Josh was saying about being made redundant may have happened. What will they do with those Skodas?
What does this mean for those who have their cars on the boat or in dock?
I am so thankful I did not pay a deposit on that RS and have the grief of dealing with the receiver.
Does anyone know what has really gone on and is going to happen with Bryan Burt Auto?
According to Volkswagen Australia, anyone who's car is on the way or turned up, no issue just a slight delay. I spoke to Josh Thursday last week. Hopefully the car turns up Monday or Tuesday at the dealers, so I can get the paperwork I need to finish the loan and collect the car.
Bryan byrt capalaba is just a ford dealer, no shock they had cars taken, ford sell stuff all cars now days. I read somewhere last month Mercedes sold more than ford....

Ordered 07 May 14 (Wk 15), Built Wk 37, Loaded 27/9 (wk 39), Docked 12/11 (wk 46), DELIVERED! 12/12 (end of wk 50 - 7 months + 1 week).
EDIT: just to clarify - my understanding is they will keep operating under administration, while each of the dealers is sold off and the group broken up. Bryan Byrt will no longer be a group, but each of the dealerships that they currently operate will still be there, but operating under a different group or independantly
Wow! I called Bryan Byrt this week to get my duel mass flywheel looked at, they booked it in - assume that's now a bad idea.
I have my car booked in for next week as well. They are replacing driver side headlight (ordered from Germany 4 weeks ago) and infotainment system (dead speaker problem, also ordered from Germany).
We'll see how it goes.

You had an issue with the headlight unit? Xenon's ? (You have an rs don't you?) Or did it sustain some damage?
Yeah, i have an RS so it's the Xenon unit. Essentially water ingress causing the DRL to die, other lights still works fine. I discovered one of the cap is loose which allow water to collect and condensing inside the unit, it took a bit of a force to snap it back in place.
Good thing that you ask, upon delivery of your new car, pop up the bonnet and check that all the headlight's black sealing caps is close tightly.
Sigh. After hearing that Skoda cars all removed from the showroom.... Called the dealer today. Vw aus has seized all the cars, and apparently stripped the dealership for vw and Skoda off bb. Have called vw and apparently someone is 'on the case' but no one can tell me what's happening, or when I will get my car. They have assured me that it won't be sold to another person, but aside from that they can't tell me when I will get it, or even if it will be through bb Skoda. If I ever get a call from them, I think I'm going to demand some sort of compensation. This is ridiculous, and it was made worse by vw seizing cars and revoking dealership.
