Email Notifications Failing (mostly Telstra)
Hello everyone. Seems there is an issue with Telstra (possible others) blocking email from our server. If you are trying to sign up I would suggest a different email if possible. If you're trying to reset your password and it fails please use the Contact Us page:
OK, have spoken at length with the dealer, and have assurances that there will be little to no delay with picking car up (day or two at worst over a "normal" pickup). He explained roughly what is going on (essentially, each dealership now has a auditor/person who has to sign everything off from Deloitte to ensure everything is "by the book") and its relatively business as usual. The dealers will be sold off, but until then, keep operating as usual, under an administrator.
So I should get my car, as per original guesstimate - the last week of the month effectively. Makes me feel a lot more relieved, and glad I have some assurances. Apparently Skoda has been assisting due to the exceptionally long wait times on the cars in making sure there are minimal delays.
So, if you're looking at a car in stock you can still buy one, but I personally wouldnt order one there, until its sold to a new owner. Might be able to get a good deal!
GTR I really hope your car is right on time and just as you like it to be. Thanks posting about BB Skoda etc. Cheers Al
No worries. Like I said, until new owners buy the dealership, I wouldnt put an order in there, but if they have stock available to buy, then purchasing a car in-country shouldnt be any different to any other dealer. May be able to push a bargain, especially with people knowing the dealer is in Administration. They were good to deal with (Josh has been at least) - He definitely knows the process well now with fully realistic time frames (i'm sure based off my "learning" experience....). I think a few skoda nuts have bought off him (and i'm definitely listed in that category) so he knows about superskoda etc.
The car is the wifes, so what will prob happen is i'll let her go into the dealership and sign the paperwork, while i go over the car with a fine tooth comb. I need to fit the number plates and mounts to the car before we drive it off, so i'll need some tools.
2014 Skoda Ambition Plus 103TSI candy white wagon, 6sp Manual, Tech pack, Panoramic Sunroof, 18's, Colour Maxidot, Comfort BT
Ordered 07 May 14 (Wk 15), Built Wk 37, Loaded 27/9 (wk 39), Docked 12/11 (wk 46), DELIVERED! 12/12 (end of wk 50 - 7 months + 1 week).
I was appalled at the wait times quoted by the local dealer, so I started some investigating. I cold called two dealers and one replied to me within 2 hours. After a quick discussion as to the spec I was after, he said that he could get a vehicle to me within two months.
With one thing and another I put that on the back burner for a couple of months until I finally took an RS diesel DSG for a test drive in late September. After negotiating with the dealer and getting the car down the price we wanted, 5 weeks after that test drive I now have a Candy White RS Diesel DSG with 18" Black Pack, Canton speakers, auto tailgate and KESSY.

Sydney's north dealer? I think I may have sat in such a vehicle.
Dropped in and I had chat to Josh @BBSkoda and found that the Octavia RS TDI DSG Wagon that is floor stock with Kessy,Canton, Black Pack 19s but no Adaptive Cruise or rear view camera. I made an offer but was declined. We really do not want Black Pack but yes to Adaptive Cruise and rear camera. I hope Bryan Burt survive all this. Maybe we may look at alternatives, my wife likes the Tiguan and the Golf Wagon.
I think floor stock is less likely to get a big discount than an order. Especially because they know there is **** all stock in the country.
I was praying there was no hail today. Car out in the weather and all. Just wish they could hurry up and let me pick it up! It's not even at dealers yet, so still a way to go. I'm expecting next week (Fri or sat) so still a bit to go..... Earlier would be nice, but not holding my breath.
Edit: Josh is a nice bloke and seems to know a lot about the process now. In not sure bb had been the best for price, but I'm happy with the price I got.
There is really nothing else comparable, so you can either pay a bit more and get floor stock, or get a bargain and wait 8 months. Or pay lots more for a competitor that's likely not as good.
I see a lot of unicorns around my area now - about 4 different ones regularly. So they are slowly starting to get out there. Clearly everyone here must be supremely patient people!
Bring on a unicorn invasion!
