No idea, they're marked as 'Delivered From' which usually means they're off the docks and on the way to a dealer, but almost all of the ones everywhere else are marked as that too. They could be at a holding yard, at a dealer, some guys shed, anywhere!

I sent the list of vin's that read put up to Rob at gold coast skoda the other day. He called me today, surprised to say the least that a customer could have more information than the branch, and confirmed those vehicles are here. As he explained to me, they're "launch cars" and "press cars" he also said, from what research he did, the spec of these cars are basic. So not many good combinations. Only just a couple have tech packs and there are only a few manuals!
He was advised by his state manager that launch is definitely late March.
He is calling me next month after his training with hopefully more info.

Not to burst your bubble but Skoda did change its pronunciation from vRS to RS, all their ads and labeling say RS now.


As for people being angry over the denials of their dealers, you really can't blame them. A lot goes into launching a car (such as those press events) and getting demos out to dealers. They need training so you don't get angry if they get a specification wrong etc. Its difficult and hard to please everyone, if a car company launches the car with specs and prices, people expect to be able to have a test drive. That usually means that every dealer needs at least one demo car, would you order a car without even driving it? I knew there was a lot of anger over dealers selling their Polo GTI demos, meaning new customers couldn't even try one before ordering. Its a shame we didn't get more allocated to us, 48 isn't many cars at all so be prepared to either be flexible on your spec or having to order one from the factory.

That said, I really hope that one of those 48 (or 6 heading to Brisbane) will be my spec, talk about exclusivity!

Point taken but i was hoping that all the talk of Skoda being allowed to succeed in Oz re pricing and not being so crippled here by the vested interests of VW that we would see quicker supply and shorter lead times. I suspect that after this initial small batch it will be a 6 month wait for factory orders.

They have always been RS here. Same as a few other makes have the little v but say RS. It was to covers their asses in the UK with Ford using RS to pretend it was something different.

Whatever gets me the 8inch screen, Colour MFD, Black design package and Gemini Anthracite's in a Liftback TSI DSG in a colour I'd like, from my shortlist earlier. Nice to haves would be KESSY and Auto Cruise.

Same, base price is tipped to be cheaper than before (it was 39,990 for a manual petrol liftback).

I'd be expecting about $44-47 driveaway depending on how much is standard.
