incase u missed it, a few conversations earlier, we were comparing to the golf wagon and I made a comparison (mk2 Octavia vs mk6 golf wagon) to the boot size - that's how we got to the lip, false floor conversation!!!

Yep I dropped out of that convo, but yes the reason there is that lip is due to the false floor option. It's intentional. Looks like they skipped it for us with the mk3 and gave us a full size spare with level floor instead.
Its interesting that a lot of people I quizzed when I showed them the green one was that thought it looked like a commodore, which is a shame because its a nice colour that goes well with the red brakes and black design grille.
Just called up a dealer near me, Barbagallo. And they were adamant that there are NO 'RS' models of the Octavia in the country. I couldn't even get a peep through to say there are on the East coast of the country!
