    mercury10, great ownership feedback here!
As for the SV6 in April I was co-drove for as friend who purchased a VE Series 2 SV6 in Adelaide. We flew there and drove back over two days. The SV6 is quick in an unimpressive way and I thought it seems smaller/more nimble to drive than it actually is.
So I did test drove the My14 SV6 Storm Sportswagon. I have already reviewed it in ealier posts.

Now since I have only driven the Elegance Octavia Wagon with TDI & DSG I can't comment yet on the vRS.

So mercury10 with regard to your review of your vRS, are they based on your previous VE SV6 versus your current vRS? IE Handles very well, rides well, very quiet...... so that is compared to the SV6? Which does have a Reversing camera!
I would like to know as I do know what the VE Sv6 is like as I have done a lot of drive hours and 2500 ks in one?
    Cheers Al

    • As i briefly mentioned earlier, i test drove the VF SSV Wagon before we put money down for the RS. So, while i can't comment on the SV6 directly, the interior was very similar and i felt that the SSV was just nicer than the RS, particularly as the Holden didn't have that red stitching - which i find personally to be a bit on the juvenile-feeling/ boy-racer side of stylish. We would have preferred the European option of grey, but was declined as an option for us unfortunately (which we expected). The seats were also nicer to sit in and it felt a little bit more luxurious in the seat in the Holden, but you can't argue with the level of tech in the RS, nor the far superior entertainment unit with Columbus installed. We really didn't get on with the Holden system at all after trying the better VAG-group examples. The Audi A3/S3 MMI is still the best we used.

So, in the comparison of a V8 to the Turbo 4, while the Holden was excitingly quick (just over 5 sec), surprisingly easy to drive and more economical that i expected (when not thrashing it - av. 30l/100km!), and ignoring the RWD which i love, the features didn't quite match up to over-ride the 'X-factor' the RS has. It wasn't that difficult a decision.

Ahh barfarina I missed that it was a V8, now that is not a fair fight... for the SSVF that is lol

        • Good morning folks

Did anyone take up Skodas offer of 0% int loans in January 2013? Or the current 2.8% offer?

Another comment the Salesperson made was that I could do my own servicing at half way to 15000 klm if I used approved oils etc...

Also I certainly do get underneath these cars (I did my Automotive trade and trained as a Coach and Motor Refinisher) as I did notice the fake exhaust outlet on the vRS wagon & the vRS Liftback has real twins.

And I also noticed that there is a sonic noise inside when you close the doors! The sealing must be very good.

Anyone of the other vRS owners comment on NVH noises or quiteness of their ride?

          • The fake outlet is for diesel. TSI RS gets two regardless of which model.

The door on the RS is very well sealed, there's more rubber seal on this car than in a Merc C-class!! Although the rubber is of lower quality.

When the car is idle, you can barely hear any external noise. Engine noise is not obtrusive.

Once the car start moving, the noise from the tyres start to comes in. At speed, most of the noise is generated from the suspension and tyre roar. It can get noisy, especially on the Pacific Highway South Bound (concrete road?). I think this come down to the lack of sound deadening on the car, lower profile tyres didn't help either.

              • Just had a chat with the dealer and now proceeding with a new online order. As compensation, the dealer offered a 2 year extended warranty and a reasonable discount on the contract price. I didn't have ACC and APA as part of the Tech pack, it seems you can't order KESSY as a stand alone item anymore hence they have offered me the full Tech pack, which will add another $1000 of value, for free. It was either this or the loan car, a hard choice to make. Luckily it worked out that a close mate of mine was going away on holidays and I will have access to his car for a period of time. I agreed to the former offer, with the new extras it will give the car a better resale value down the track. I have to point out that Skoda AUS was cc'd in all my correspondence with the dealer and they haven't replied to any of the emails. They may have felt that taking a neutral stand was best as it was the responsibility of the dealer to resolve their human error. So, there you go finally a resolution to my crazy Skoda new car experience! Now the wait begins once again...

I'm not sure how you had a "tech pack" before without ACC/KESSY/APA as that's all in the tech pack, and always had been. Or did you order some of the tech pack components as seperate items?

Obviously the new "tech pack" will be the full song......expect a lengthy delay. I still havent heard **** about mine.......and mines just a lowly ambition+

EDIT: Congrats on the outcome. Sounds like you got what you were hoping for (well, except the car!)

                      Thanks Reza.
Tyre choice will always have a significant influence on noise levels. So what brand has Skoda fitted to your RS?

Yes that concrete section really is a noise amplfication factor! What about on normal roads?

Well lets say on the best roads versus our poor suburban roads?

                          • Benmac: Thanks for your kind word. I'm working hard to get the web online, hopefully soon.

Al: My car comes with Continental tyres. On a good road it's quite suppressed but on poor broken road, it can get a bit noisy, but i've gotten used to it

                            • No information on lead times yet. I have the stock number of the new factory build which has been passed on to Skoda AUS, who is looking into factory production line data and will update me on any information after liaising with the factory.
